It's quite annoying also, that many of us have paid up for our operating systems, just for scrotes to nick one for free.

If you have a genuine copy of XP and you want it activated, ring up microsoft and tell them, they will activate it for you.

thats true, as i was building my pc i kept changing thigs around, hard drive. motherboard etc and my legit copy of vista home preium would no longer activate online so i rung microsoft and they just said, hey no problem heres an activation code for you,

easy as that, if you have a genuine copy microsoft will give you an activation code regardless of how many time you have activated the copy in the past

I live by the moral that, if I like something and it helps me, then i'll pay for the priviledge.

my vista is OEM got it of ebay,

activated it then upgraded my pc (changed my motherboard etc) and it wouldnt re-activate online, tried the phone route and got put through to an operator who promptly gave me a activation code
