Laughing you really should't be posting keys publically like that, it only takes 1 person to report this post to microsofts anti-piracy and it could very well be the end of BCF

It's quite annoying also, that many of us have paid up for our operating systems, just for scrotes to nick one for free.

If you have a genuine copy of XP and you want it activated, ring up microsoft and tell them, they will activate it for you. Rolling Eyes

thats true, as i was building my pc i kept changing thigs around, hard drive. motherboard etc and my legit copy of vista home preium would no longer activate online so i rung microsoft and they just said, hey no problem heres an activation code for you,

easy as that, if you have a genuine copy microsoft will give you an activation code regardless of how many time you have activated the copy in the past

I wonder what the ratio is of people paid vs people not paid? I don't think its annoying if someone gets it for free if the brought the price down or stopped people from copying it then there would be no problem.

So you should nick a bike unless they bring the price down?! Where are you from? Mars?

I think you'll find many people pay up fully for their copies of operating systems.

I live by the moral that, if I like something and it helps me, then i'll pay for the priviledge.

If you want a free OS, get Linux.

Only one from that list is music. If I like the music, I will buy it however, if I don't it get's deleted anyway.

Not strictly true.

With Windows XP, your generally right, both OEM and retail keys can be reactivated for any reason and as long as its not getting absolutely hammered (Talking at least one activation per day over a period of a week or two here) you'll not have problems beyond having to phone up the automated activation line after a few installs, you'll know your pushing the limits when you get forcably put through to an operator instead. Just remember to be honest and accurate with all the details except for how many machines the key is on and why the mainboard was changed (Always answer that it was faulty). If in doubt, play stupid, the operators don't have a clue either and will generally just give in and give you the activation code unless you truely come accross as a knowing software pirate. (avast!)

With Vista, retail keys are just the same as XP, however a new clause got added in the EULA for OEM keys in that that key is bound to a single mainboard once activated. Whilst I haven't yet had a spare oem key to test it, word is that they are enforcing this policy vigorously on Vista regardless of reasoning for the change Confused
