Is any on about going? Im thinking of popping up one of the 2 days - prob the sunday.

Camping for bikers is free at Squires Cafe and its £15 for entrance for two days.

Apparently its gonna be broadcasted this year! Cool

Hope this is OK in this section - if not any mods - feel free to move it!

Thanks. Thumbs Up

Hi

We went yesterday. I spent most of the day at the timing lights taking pictures.

Wind was a bit of a problem, with a constant side wind. You an see how that affected the flyers, let alone the wheelie guys here:-

https://www.traxpics.co.uk/SHOW-20070922-WorldWheelieDay/201%20Holesot//Small/KJW_1350.JPG

https://www.traxpics.co.uk/SHOW-20070922-WorldWheelieDay/

Today was apparently quicker. Fastest runner was Frank (the Flying Dutchman) at 241mph.

Fastest wheelie ove 1km was 162mph.

All the best

Keith

I really need a thousand. My best is 142mph on the R6. Sad

Remember these are through timing lights, so probably an indicated 175 probably for the winner (even assuming they hadn't played with the sprockets and upset the speedo accuracy).

Hi

Nothing to stop you entering, except the £200 entry fee. Should be on again next year so get ready to book.

Wheelie speeds were lower this year, probably because of the side wind on the saturday.

Not heard any results for the fastest wheelie popped. Last year I think it was 215mph (ie, pop a wheelie, but not maintain it for the km).

All the best

Keith

Hi

Has to be up for the whole way down from the first timing lights and through the 2nd set. And is checked visually. One poor sod on one run put the front wheel down a shade before the last timing light (put it this was, 8.5fps on the camera, one shot with the wheel in the air, next shot with the bike going through the lights had the wheel on the ground).

All the best

Keith

Wheelie records required the front wheel to be airborne for 1km and the top speed was taken at the end of the run, you did get a bit of a run up before the start of the 1km run.

Popped down for a couple of hours on the Sunday and was surprised as to how busy it was. Huge queues for food and after all that waiting there were no burgers left!!

Did you run at all Keith?
