...by a goddam wasp, dammit.

Riding back from work, got home, stopped the bike to get off and open the garage, felt a really sharp pain on the top of my right ankle.

It was so bad that I had to take the boot off, unzip leathers and get my sock off so I could have a look - I thought I had been stabbed, but then I realised it must have been a wasp. Damn thing. Shook my boot out, and there was the little fucker!

Must have gone down the front of the boot when I was riding, chilled out a bit, then I must have squished him a bit when I got off, making him pissed off.

Anyone else had crazy insect/animal related stories you want to share with the group??

PS. Its been years since I've been stung, fuck me it hurts a lot. Its 1 1/2hrs later and its still giving me gip.

PPS. At work today a fuck off dragonfly flew into the office - must have been 4" long. Nuts. Obviously there is something in the air!!

Damn wasps! I went for a ride and it was the only bit of exposed skin that the wasp attacked right on my neck.

So painful I had to stop and find the bastard it felt like it was stabbing me multiple times.

Found him though and crushed him with my boot. Very Happy Thumbs Up

Well I guess I fought back on this one, I was driving my car pretty fast in the suburban area I live in as there was a nice patch of open road and no cars ahead of me. (Of course this was under the speed limit officer... Rolling Eyes ). I saw a pigeon ahead of me and assumed it would fly away well before I reached it (as they always do) and the fucker just sat there until I was about 20 inches away, in which it decided to start moving, the fucker flew right into my windshield, luckily there was no damage on my car, however it was not a particularly pretty sight, dumb bird...

Couple of points...

Wasps don't swarm.

Wasps don't leave their stinger.

I've been smacked on my stomach while doing 60 by a pheasant Shocked The bloody bird actually flew in my direction! It was walking along the other side of the road and suddenly flew towards me.

And another time is when I was on my way home and a pigeon started flying towards me then turned around so it was pretty much flying alongside me and as I started to catch up with it I moved my head so I wouldn't hit and then I decided "fuck it, it's a flying rodent" and gave it a headbut. Had a few feathers stuck to my air vents when I got home Mr. Green

My grandad was a motorbike cop in the 2nd world war. One day he was charged with the task of accompanying Winston Churchill down to his country house in Kent (with a few other fellow officers). As they were riding a long in convoy, a wasp lodged itself inside the leather flap of his helmet and stung him. He completely stacked the bike forcing the car containing Winston to swerve all over the place to avoid running him over. my grandad was OK - a few scratches and bruises, Winston even got out and asked him if he was alright!

Imagine, a bee sting could have changed the course of the war had things not turned out quite as well as they did.

This was one of my Grandads favourite sunday dinner stories. What a legend.

One of my old school teachers lost his leg because a bird knocked him off his bike.

Only story I've got is a bee in my helmet that didn't sting me. Rolling Eyes

A mate of mine was riding with his zip undone a few inches - a bee/wasp got in and stung him loads of times. he screamed to a stop with the bee still stinging. When he took his shirt off his neck/chest was a right mess!
