Hi, i was recently given a fine by a magistrates court and despite me telling them at the time i couldn't afford it, was still given only 28 days to pay... The thing is, there is no way i can pay the full amount.

Surely they can't make people pay what they can't afford? Is there any way i can get more time to pay without having to go to court again?

Thanks,
Andrew

Try sending a letter to the payment/clerks office at the court, explaining your circumstances and making a reasonable offer.

Or you could not pay a penny, go on the run and commit as many crimes as you can blaming society as you go. Should be safe then. Oh don't forget to go around with no tax or insurance and no registered keeper for your bike and stay as pissed as you want. Thumbs Up

Your right, I don't know any details and that is your private stuff. What I am saying is that it just seems that when some peple have fines they take the piss and no one does anything, but those who try to pay but are hard up are taken to the cleaners.

Am i the only nosy person here?..What did you do to get the fine? Usually it can be made in installments, unless its some sort of fixed penalty( feel free to correct me if im wrong on that).
