I have a '96 GSX600f Zook and whenever I turn the fuel petcock on fuel starts leaking out of the bottom of the carbs.. There are hoses (I assume vaccuum hoses) that come together out of the left 2 carbs and the right 2 carbs.. Fuel starts pouring out of them whenever the gas is turned on. I think at one point these were for a charcoal canister but they aren't hooked up to anything anymore.. Any ideas as to why gas would be coming out of these? Thanks for any advice! Confused Confused

Looks like you have a stuck float in one or more of the carbs.

The float works in the same way as the one in your toilet-when fuel reaches a certain level, it closes the valve and shuts of the liquid.

Try giving the bottom of each carb a sharp tap with a screwdriver handle to see if it will loosen the float.

If that doesnt work its carbs off time. Youll need to check that the floats are ok and set correctly, and that the fuel valves are not too worn. Also the O rings around the valves can perish so check those.

Useful info in here, your carbs will be similar. Look for setting float heights.

True but if that was the ccase the fuel would be dripping off the floatbowl rather than the overflow pipes.

true, good point, float hight it is, or a worn float valve not stopping petrol when the valve goes back up.

cheers
