Hi all, This is my first Post so i'll try not to come across like too much of a Noob!!

Ok, I've owned bikes for quite a few years which vary from my first which was a Ducati Monster about 5-6 years ago through most of the Sports bikes to my last one GSXR 1000, It all came to a bit of a Halt last december when i had a bit of an Off road Experience in bad weather and it put me off a bit to be quite honist so i have been a car driver since.

So... To cut a long story short i bought a 450hp mazda Rx7 which is not the best thing to get to work in so this morning i bought a Lifan Jet (LF50QT-2A) just to do the 4 miles each way to work every day.

So remember i have had some fairly quick bikes in the past, i jumped on in and ragged off to the Shop (about a mile away) which brings me to my Question, IS THAT IT!!!! i was thinking with my Wallet when i bought it, Found it on E-bay Brand new £500, that and the £15 in fuel a Month max i had big plans, so i'm really hoping it has some sort of Restrictor on it i can play with and at least keep up with the 1.0 Corsa's.

Your help would be most Appreciated because i feel like i have made a Big mistake i'm not used to having cars pass me Sad(thought it would at least do 50-60mph not the 30mph it does at the moment)

Cheers
Chris

According to this page, the max speed is 50kph, so yes, it looks like that's it.

Typical, my mate was selling an NC30 too. Rolling Eyes

Ahh well i'll give it a few weeks and see if the saving in fuel out weighs the gutless'ness of the thing.

I must be going soft or something 3hp???? O man i need to think before buying stuff.

Hi there, I'm pretty sure you can de restrict it, i have a modern chinese import and it was derestricted so now it does like 43 on the flat which isnt too bad for a 50cc.

4 strokes CAN be de restricted, as mine has been so u shud be able to make it do bout 45 Smile

Just been playing with it and found it has a Throttle stop Smile (which was promptly removed) does about 40ish now which is better.

I was chatting to a Guy today that told me to take out the restricting washer in the variator?

I have just done a bit of looking about and i've found a few write ups but there all two stroke. Makes me think its a two stroke thing? Is it worth me pulling the cover of and having a look to see if it has one? and there is lots of talk about not messing up the gasket, does this mean i need to drop the oil?

Cheers
