My son is learning to ride on my old kymco Cruiser. He is getting impatiant and want to pass his test, I think he will pass. He aint 21 untill Feb 2008 so das is out of the question. so can anyone tell me what size bikes are 33bhp with out de-restricting them, and if he does his Part 2 now, when he is 21 in feb can he take a refresher or something so he can ride a bigger bike.
Cheers all
Tony

Depends very much on the individual bike but most 250's, some 400's and in the case of cruisers even the Savage with its mighty 650cc's

Try this this list at Bat Motorcycles.

If he is 21 before his 2 year period is up, he can take the test again on a 500cc to gain a full license.

You're right I missed that first time round.

If I were him I'd wait it out until February, otherwise it is taking exactly the same test - with appropriate charges - twice.

However I am known for being tight, or as I prefer to think of it financially imbalanced

My Dad did the restricted test on the grounds that it was cheaper Wink.

Now he's leaving the RAF so they are going to pay for him to get his full test done, and the training, as part of his re-training stuff. Which is also good news for him as his SV650 won't have to be 33bhp any more. not that it is anyway..

Lucky for some I guess,
