Money is short at the moment but I do have a Vivacity and I am 17 now. For my 17th birthday my grandparents bought me a car and are paying for my lessons and test. At the moment I am in college so I am not earning anything. The options I have at the moment are:

1) Stick with the car and moped until I have enough cash then re-take my CBT and do the full test

2) Sell the moped and buy a Honda CBR 125 and borrow the money for a test.

3) Do the test but don't bother buying a bigger bike until later

What do you think?

Depends - do you have to tax, insure, mot, service the car yourself, or are your grandparents helping out with that too?

Just to throw it out there, why not get a part time job and earn yourself a bike?

I was doing 40 hour weeks while at college to pay for my bike. I came out with an A in maths and a B in geography, less said about biology better mind.

Still you can work while at college it won't hurt you Razz.

I am looking for a job which I can do alongside college. The only problem is my college gets more canditates to Oxford and Cambridge than any other in the country (and saying that, probably the world too). I am taking:

Maths
Further Maths
Chemistry
Biology
Critical Thinking
ICT
Team Games

And they all come with about 3/4 hours homework each, plus we're expected to do self-revision too.... I just hope it pays off.

Wow do you have any free periods at all? :/

Still if you are looking to go to cambridge/oxford then it should be worth it.

Option 1 all the way

If your grandparents are being kind enough to support you getting licenced then it would be rude to not follow through on it.

Just get through Uni and then when you are supporting yourself get yourself through the test and get a bike to ride.

It is analysing and evaluating arguements to search for credibility ect, it's harder than most people think (harder than maths and science for a start).

And yes I have 2 free periods a week, but sometimes study classes rob me of them.

Option 3

Do the A2, carry on on your moped and car. By the time you can afford a bigger bike, your A2 will be full, you will have gained roadcraft and you will have the cash, experience and licence for a big bike.
