Hi I'm Martin. Here's a few pics of my bike "Black Behemoth".

I traded my gsx-r600 K6 in for this bike, and havn't looked back since. A very underated bike, which is good because it means that I don't see too many others on the road (unlike the gixxer).

If you want to know anything about owning a CB1300s feel free to ask.

It's great, but like all other bikes out there it depends on what you need most in a bike. If you can call it a vice, I'd say that it's a bit sanitised. There's nothing really offensive going on when you're riding it, and it has an uncanny ability to detach you from the road beneath. So I reckon some people would ride it and think it's rather dull, slow even. It isn't, far from it! But it could feel it if you're used to more "active" feedback.

That's about as bad as it gets. The good bits are that I reckon it's one of the best commuters/light tourers on the market. It's built better than most other bikes. Period. It goes like stink once you allow the engine to breath (pipe & filter) and it even handles way better than a bike of this size has any right to. You can pop it in top at 25mph, and accelerate cleanly to 150mph without a blip. 2-up is a breeze, even a 300 mile jaunt feels like a ride round the block (compared to a s/sport) - but again, this could be down to that detached feeling I was talking about.

So I'd say that if you're really into short-ish 1-up rides that consist mostly of scratching around bends, and you're prepared to put up with arse ache, wrist ache, neck ache, back ache and gutless acceleration unless you're in the right gear, then this probably isn't the bike for you.

Me? I'll never go back to a screaming 600 / middleweight v-twin again!

I've always liked these and you can't go wrong with black (check my pics and you will see why, although the red/white looks good.

My next bike may be one of those but the only thing I dislike is the single pipe (twin pipe fan),I have seen on German sites CB's with twin pipes?.

Have read that it is one of the best handling twin shock naked /semi naked bikes on the market but can be a bit........Dare I say.......,dull,although smooth would be a better description, unlike my XJR which would be raw, fast rough at times and don't handle so well untill you fit better shocks/front springs.

I like it a lot Thumbs Up

Checked your photos, like the red/white/black scheme you've got going on there.

Yeah, it's weird to describe a bike that makes 120hp & 95ft lbs at the rear wheel as "dull" but it delivers the power early on, in a very understressed way.

These two clips give are a good example of how fast/grunty the bike is...

Non taken, I know what you meant and it's a fair comment. "Soulless" is pretty on the money. Another good one would be simply "Honda"

That's an awesome bike you have. If I were you I wouldn't be thinking of changing it for a long, long time. You've obviously put a lot of work into making it unique. Besides, where do you go from that? A new CB13 is more modern, but is it any better? Sock vs stock I'd say yeah a bit better, but your bike is WELL sorted. Why not just get some fancy USD forks & wavy disks instead Wink

USD can be done with R1 forks but there a bit shorter which makes the front a bit twitchy. Would like wavys but short of cash at mo,can't think why Laughing

My hit list includes Confused

Barnett clutch
Hagons shocks and springs front and rear
Stainless exhaust system and collector
Scottoiler (have heard wonders about these)
some more bits to Aerocoat
and maybe some FJ1100 cams.

Paul Very Happy
