Hi All. I'm new.

This is my first post and not what I was hoping it to be!

So I get up early, spend a couple of hours getting some practice in. All goes well and I nail the tricky u-turn time after time. Travel for nearly 40 minutes to get Reading where the test centre is. Arrive with plenty of time feeling fairly confident. After mooching around for an hour I make my way to the test centre. Sit in the waiting room for about 30 minutes. Tom, my examiner asks me to follow him to the testing room. He asks for my documents... There's a problem. My paper copy is not the matching version to my photo licence! I lost my licence a couple of years ago and applied for a new one. I then found the old one but never destroyed it. Somehow my old one made it to my wallet.

Sorry Paul but I can't let you do the test today.

Ouch! Thats a bugger... The exact same situation happened to me where I had a replacement and somehow the two documents I ended up with a couple of years later didn't match. Fortunately I didn't have any need to use my license during that time. But I'm totally at a loss to how I managed it :S

Hopefully you can get a matching set of documents and your next attempt will go smooth as silk. Good luck for next time!

Tim

i have just done my cbt, for the second time, and will be planning to do my test.

while the cbt instrustor was looking at my lisence i have different coloured hair on my lisence to what i have now, he said there could be a problem, is this a big enough problem for an examener to stop me from doing my test

cheers

matt

Cheers everyone - i've calmed down a bit now. Perhaps it was something telling me that I wasn't supposed to have the test yesterday!

At least now it gives me chance to have a couple of lessons. I was going into the test a bit 'blind' yesterday as I was pretty confident the experience i've gained by riding for a year on my own was enough. Think it's best I at least get assessed before the next one.

Checked and the next test avaibility is not until November so have a bit of time!

ring round some riding schools.

If you book a few lesons through them they tend to have test dates reserved

after 1 they tell you how many lessons they think you will need
