I went to work on my bike today, in the first time in ages. Took off the seat to put in the battery and what do I see? A big fucking rat sleeping where the battery should be. Bloody hell that gave me a fright!

It didn't run away or anything, it just was there looking at me. It looked frightened. I felt sorry for the poor thing. So not being one for hurting animals I needed to find a way to get rid of it without me hurting/killing it and without it biting me and giving me some sort of disease.

My ingenious plan was to stand about a meter away and use the seat to make a racket near it, with the hope of scaring it away. It moved. Yes! So I make more noise and the rat runs into a little gap between the tank. So now it is hiding in the bloody engine. Doh!

After about 10 minutes of me walking cautiously around my bike, cursing and swearing at myself for letting it get to this situation, I decided to make more racket with the bike cover near the engine area. Luckily this worked and the rat jumped out and ran off.

I hope it doesn't come back! I think it knows not to mess with tokarev now.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

At least you could see your squatter, I've got a field mouse living somewhere in the pickup, and the little $hit seems to be wise to traps....

Might be an idea to check your wiring. I think rodents have a habit of gnawing things, and if it's got comfy there for a while it might have done some damage that you don't know about yet.

I have had a look round earlier. All it seems to have done is bite the wire for the indicators. I will just bodge it with some electrical tape. It also must have nibbled at the oil tube because that is leaking. Bike is going for some work and an MOT on Friday, so all will be fixed...finally.

... I decided to get the wife to get the mallet and kill the little bleeder Smile

I remember watching pimp my ride and there was a rat living in the rear of the car somewhere, and like, 3months worth of rat shite...

Have you checked for other ones? I mean, babies, get those inhumane traps that just rock back so the rat cant get out, we have a few of them set up in the garage somewhere...
