Leaving on monday, Roughly going Dover > Calais > Leon > Marseille > Nice (maybe for a day or two) Then cut back across and down to Barcelona > Valencia > Gibraltar > Madrid and back up via the Milau Bridge,

Anyone who has been to any of these areas know of any roads that are worth a detour just to ride? Smile

Cheers

Done quite a few roads around there, but I only have time for a quick post.

I highly recommend the N20 towards Cahours its a fantastic road.

The traffic around Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona is absolutly nuts. If I were you I should pick one of the three cities which you actually want to visit, then steer well clear of the other two.

The mountainous area to the north-west of Teruel in the south of Aragon is absolutely sublime. Anywhere in the Pyrenees is amazing as long as you aren't using the main transit routes. In the south the mountains to the north of Malaga (the area around Ronda) are fantastically free of traffic, full of good scenery, with plenty of great roads.

I may get lost on some horrible one way systems but well its part of the adventure...

I know a few in Spain, lived here a while now, one not to miss is the CV70 from south of Alcoy down to Benidorm, Just join the A7 after Valencia then take the N340 just after Benelxida, and follow to Alcoy then the CV70 all the way down to Benidorm.
A couple of pics to whet your appetite

Another good one close to that is the N340 from La Sarga (south of Alcoy) to Alicante.

It depends how long you are planning to stay around the south of Spain but I could give you enough top roads for a full days driving Smile

Re the comments above about Valencian traffic, its not too bad to be honest, Madrid is crazy, you really have to be on the ball navigating too as they tend to keep changing the road no´s!

Ps if you need somewhere to stay and someone to show you around click the link in my sig!

The N260 between Arties and Sort on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees is the best road I've ever ridden - 34 miles of twisty, well surfaced tarmac Thumbs Up

In the French Alps, I'd recommend Col D'Izuord & Col Du Bonnette on the way to Nice Very Happy
