insurance runs out in january so I've started saving for a bike to get when I have to renew my policy. I'd like a tallish bike. I'm 6"3. I'm not going to have a huge budget but I would like something nice that can be my pride and joy. I'm still wihtin my 2 years so the bike would have to be 33bhp or restricted. make me some suggestions please

budgets around 1500 but amy stretch a bit further. I think ill stay away from sports bikes because of the cost and the restriction. I would like a naked ideally, although if I can get an offroad style bike that would be comfy over distance for both me and pillion then great.

Hmmm.... think I'd be looking at Bandit's myself. Cheap insurance, fairly quick and plenty to choose from. £1500 - £2000 should get you one that in quite good nick and a lot have already been restricted (Or at least have the certificate Laughing )

Another option would be a 600 Monster. Very good looking bike, but Italian reliability and they ain't that quick. If you want to do quite a few miles probably best avoiding this one as it would be expensive in the long run, but if you don't rely on a bike for transport then worth a look.

The there's the myriad of streetfightered sports bikes, but that's a whole different set of rules......

TBH, the Bandit is probably the best option for your budget. They are a fun bike IMO, and there are loads of aftermarket goodies to make it stand out from the others.

Happy hunting Mr. Green

I've been looking at bandits and it does seem like a popular way to go. I'll keep doing my research and see what pops up Thumbs Up thanks

Any of the older 600cc off road style bikes will do your job - DR600, XL600, XT600. They were all claimed at about 35-40hp new at the crank, so will be 33hp or less at the back wheel. Nice fat gob of torque, cheap to run, and very comfortable to ride if you're tall.
