Hey there my friend has got a problem with his 636 (2005 model), he stripped it down for about a month to spray up the fairings and give it a full service etc...
After the month or so we have tried to start it but the FI light keeps flashing up. we took the spark plug out to check if there was a spark, there was none, and the is fuel getting through, we thought it maybe the alarm system (META) so we have reset that a number of times now to no avail.
We have also checked all of the fuses Confused
We thought it could be the immobilizer but haven't got a clue how to get around this and also thought it would re-set along with the alarm as it all goes through the same fob.

Has anybody got any ideas we could try please.
Thanks
Chris

Yeah

Count the flashes, one long one = 10, one short one = 1, then check the fault code index. Thats if it works like Honda lol. Check EVERY connector on the bike

done that so many times mate, the bike mechanic said it might be the injectors but he hasn't come out to look at it, just based on what we told him over the phone and wanted to charge £1900 at worst to fix it Shocked surely i cant be that much or the injectors if fuels getting through and there is no spark Confused

Can you hear the injectors priming when you turn the key? If one injector is out they all go out so if you KNOW its getting fuel i doubt its the injectors. When you said youv checked something loads of times do you mean connectors? What kind of flashing is the FI light throwing out?

Has he got an aftermarket exhaust? Is the FI light fix fitted correctly?

the FI light flashes as it should do when the bike is armed and goes off when not armed but as soon as you start firing it up the light will start flashing fast, and then will flash slower after.

Yeah he does have an after market scorpion exhaust which was fitted nearly two years ago just after he bought the bike.

and yeah we have tried to check all the connectors we can see are connected up (this was our first thought when it started playing up)
