I had something like that, left leg, left of the shin was a V but right way up Had to have 8 stiches, they hurt, i think if its deep you should get it checked out! Super massive scar i gots!

It could use a few stitches but that will bollox up the weekend. Have a freshly serviced bike outside that needs to be used over the next two days so I have just patched it all back in place with tape and washed some pills down with beer.

That is the problem with shins, the skin does not stretch well.
I have made some heavy weight butterflies by cutting medical tape up and it is working well. Real stitches would require rest and I ain't in the mood for resting.
It bled like crazy at first so it will be clean and I do not think infection will be an issue, if it gets hot i will sort some antibiotics NP.
My ex just phoned, she said I sounded manic and dangerous

Looks like it needs stitches pal.

It won't naff your weekend up mate.

I had 23 stitches in my left arm and the day after they were put in I got a Personal best in the hammer.

So much for " taking it easy for the next few weeks"

Thanks for all the concern but the pills have kicked in and I feel like i can take on the world and nob its sister, praise be to god for Diclofenac Sodium!
Arm skin is nice and stretchy Jamie, it is like bollock sack or nob skin and you can sew it easily. I must have had 150 or so stitches in my arms and hands over the years and you never get grief with them. In fact I have got a needle and thread and put at least 20 stitches in myself on various occasions when I could not be arsed to go to A&E. Shins are a bitch though, far more like head skin with no play in it. Stitches rip out if you try to have fun.

No idea if it's a good idea putting superglue on an open wound if you have any other choice though...

Well it held up for a 200mile ride through the Cotswolds today on the hand change 1930 bike.
We were supposed to be doing it all again tomorrow but I cut the do down to one day as I am sure it will hurt in the morning once the pain killers wear off also I did not feel up to a night of heavy drinking as tonight would certainly be!

superglue is a life saver, every time i go down hill biking or anything i always take a small tube, cut urself and its a case of superglueing the sides of the cut back together, did it when i split my eyebrow open, all cuts on arms and legs etc. stings for a few minuted but soon goes away, seals and helas nicely and leaves awesome scars
