Well as some of you may know i recently came of as a pillion at 120 on the motorway. I allways wear my leather trousers and the one time i jump on a bike without i have a nasty off.

I lost grip due to the wind and the fact my ars had slid completely of the seat, so was holding my entire weight against the wind on my poor little fingers.

Anyway heres a pic of my wounds (i was wearing jeans) which was taken 4 weeks after the accident, dark and discoulourd areas are how big they originally were. Burns were as follows. Lower back, both elbows, both thighs, entire ars as you can see and both calfs. I also broke both my thumbs but considering the speed i am lucky to be here. 7 weeks on the wounds on my ars are smaller but still open and still very uncomfy. The whole experiance and healing process has been pretty bad (see hurts like a bitch).

I would strongly recommend that anyone who considers going out in jeans takes a look at this thread before doing so as i promise its not an experiance i enjoyed and would ever want to go through again let alone see someone else go through.

Christ, had no idea this had happened, really lucky to get away with it, going by your description of the injuries and the speed you hit the deck at.

I've crashed in jeans myself, at lower speed, and the damage to your skin takes weeks/months to heal, and the pain and risk of infection is a nightmare.

Glad youre still around!

There were other cars about just lucky i missed them, over took one whilst on my ars.

Nope havent claimed of his insurance, told me wasnt what a "mate" would do and that he wouldnt ride with me anymore if i did, then didnt speak to me any more. But worked out its cost me 7 weeks earning plus all my gear needed replacing etc so i have his insurance details and im going to look at a claim to cover my losses. Scariest part of the whole ordeal was once i ran over to hard shoulder i started to loose my sight to shock, went allmost completely blind for a few mins. Worried me as i'd thought i had done some real damage.

Added an attachment for anyone who cant see the picture, nice to know someone else understands what ive been through ram, i found the pain fine untill wound dressings, cream being applied or the bloody silver nitrate stick. Usually its just stings when pulled etc but sometimes pain is unbareable, the dressing used to end up allmost glueing to the wounds over night so come change it was horrible. The itching and sleepless nights were the worst but seem to have got back to normal now. Allthough when in trauma they gave me two really strong doses of morphine, that stuff is awsome. They gave me weaker stuff to take home but didnt really work.

First day back at work today and im being to get back to normal. Just dont wear jeans people, its not nice.

I wouldn't give a fuck about my insurance if I injured a 'mate' like that, I'd be sick with guilt that I'd seriously hurt a friend.

You are well shot of him, you lived through something to tell the grandkids and luckily Chicks dig scars.

Thanks for sharing though, its a good reminder to dress for the crash not for the ride.

ye i did that, my best mate ran into me, i didnt claim or press charges, and he still to this day says it was my fault, when he ran into me. he started goin round tellin people he was gunna knock me out because i was lieing, claim off him, you might aswell, seein as he dont speak to you anymore anyway. and if i injured a mate i wouldnt give a shit bout my insurance, that would be the last thing on my mind.

Your "mate" needs dragging behind a bike in jeans, then asking how he feels about claiming on insurance.

Bit of both probably, me for not having my arms right round his waist, him for doing 120 and i think the thing that caused my ars to slide of the seat was because there was a fleece put over the top of pillion seat secured by a net to stop the stickers getting scratched. meant i had room to slide but im not saying it was his fault by wanting to claim of his insurance it was an accident but thats what insurance is there for and ive been through shit for last 7 weeks and its cost me a fortune. I did offer to give him his excess back in cash so that he wouldnt loose any money.

No one is solely to blame here, but guaranted i wont be going pillion any more and i wont wear anything but my leathers.

He was doing 120....

My mate said it was my fault when i stopped at lights and he went into the back of me, we settled it as just fixing my bike, we're now best mates....

They look really bad, i wear jeans but my bike barely goes above 40mph anyway, still, looks bad...

Hope they go back to normal Smile

Fook, that looks painfull....

Well if you were my mate, i would have no issues with you claiming, as you say thats what its there for.
If he has acted in the way you say then you are best shot of him, as it appears he's only thinking of himself and cares nothing about the pain and losses you have suffered.

To be totally honest if I came off at 120 and looked like that I would be quite happy.

Not bad at all considering they were just normal jeans.( not draggin jeans ?)

Ps this is not to say that wearing jeans is a good idea , you were VERY lucky.

I have come off in jeans a few times and have never managed to burn through them.

Could be a good way to loose weight Thinking

Mate, 20 was quick enough going round a roundabout in the freaking 'damp' but jeans saved me, im on a 50cc and wont have another bike after this until i have my car and all, id rather stay dry. But as soon as i do get on my next bike, ill be straight up the essentials shop for some 1 piece leathers, i value my life.

I think you look in pretty decent shape for a 120mph off. What make of jeans were you wearing?
