Put my tom-tom rider on fleabay as I never use the damn thing. Stated it needs a mount kit as the original one is a bit broken.

I was hoping to get about 175 for it but since posting it on there I've had 3 people messaging me offering me cash by special delivery for 175. They have good ratings (200+) so i assume they are legit, but I've not accepted any offers yet...

However it's got 4 days to go and its got 17 watchers! Am I better off taking the 175 thats been offered or letting the auction run and see if I get more...

Depends. What do they usually go for on ebay, 2nd hand?

I always end early to avoid fees but always get them to pay first before ending anything.

Think mine is the only second hand 1 on there which makes it harder. New ones are £225.

The latest one sold on the 19th for £175, with 12 bids

I'd be tempted to take the £175 offer.

i was looking at buying 1 of these a month ago, 2nd hand was around that price, some went to about 190, but you dont have a bracket, so i would say:
'3 people have offered me 175, do you want me to pick out of a hat or are you willing to pay more?'

Tom-Tom is okay, but for what it offers, there are far better and cheaper options. It costs a fortune to upgrade Tom-Tom's maps, and the screen is far too small for my aging eyes!

In my 2004 Dodge Sprinter (Mercedes sold in the USA under the Dodge name), I installed a Shuttle-X Windows XP PC with a 17-inch monitor and a trackball. For GPS navigation, I use Microsoft Streets & Trips 2008 and DeLorme EarthMate GPS with Street Atlas 2008 software. Each year, it costs me about $80.00 to upgrade both programs with the new map CDs, since I already have the GPS antennas.

The monitor support arm I used is intended to clamp onto the edge of a desk. I disassembled the arm, and reversed the upper portion so that it continued upward rather than bending down as it normally would. This arm works GREAT as a monitor support! I had to remove the Sprinter's lower cup holder and console piece and use the four mounting holes. I welded the floor bracket our of scrap metal to fit the application.

I really eny people who have a sense of direction!

I'd hold out for the highest bidder. Tom Tom is selling for about $450.00 here in the land of gluttonous consumption.

Who in their right mind would nick that? Mr. Green

If you can't see the screen on a normal Satnav how do you see the road? Shocked

Think I will stick with my Zumo and its small screen. Thumbs Up

Thats awesome. . .in a car. Not really practical on a bike.

Besides. . . . you don't have to pay for tom tom maps. . . .

I'm not up on my Brit slang, but I assume you mean, has someone ever tried to steal it.

No, I have a bit of a reputation around my area. Someone would have to have some substantial brass balls to break into my truck. If they got away clean, then so be it. Everything is insured. However, if I learned the identity of the thief, he would do well to leave the country before I caught up with him.

I can see the small screen just fine, but WHAT you can see on it is extremely limited. Also, Microsoft Streets & Trips 2008 has many features you won't find on the small, dedicated GPS units.

I'd go into further detail, but I wouldn't want to be accused of SPAMMING. Laughing
