Hi,
I've just sold my 2001 ZX6R last week, but i have a brand new, still boxed Akrapovic titanium exhaust end can for it that im going to probably sell on ebay. It's the one that has the removable baffle insert pipe, so it can be changed from road legal into a full race can, by removing the baffle pipe.

The exhaust was about £300 brand new, but what would it be worth sticking it on ebay for now? I'd like to get close to £200 for it if possible? Any ideas what i should put it on for?

I've also got a brand new set of HEL stainless steel front brake hoses, and a Factory ignition advancer for it.

Anyone interested in any of these parts?

id say you'll be very lucky to get £100 for a end can,
brake hoses you might get 40 or 50 quid for
but good luck, you never know you might get what your wanting

Brand new boxed Akro will net much much more than £100 - I don't think you're £200 assessment would be far off.

I paid £85 for a oldish, non mint steel micron for a SRAD from ebay - so £100 for an Akro is very low I would say.

Stick it on at 99p no reserve, pull the auction if bidding doesn't get high enough.

I beleive you can pull you auctions if ended early enough? Not withing the last 10 mins?

To me Ebay is Ebay - Bargain site - regardless of what you have -

When it comes to me selling - I either put a reserve - or dont place on that site - either freeads - bike trader.

Just have 2 accounts...

ACCOUNT 1 - list the item for £0.01p with no reserve

ACCOUNT 2 - place bid up to your reserve price

This way it costs you virtually nothing to list everything. Or just get a friend to bid on it for you.

If it costs £300 new and it's still boxed/unused I don't see why it wouldn't go for £200+ it's still a bargain at that price after all Thumbs Up

I'd say that you'll get well over £100 for the can, £200 might be a push though. As for the brake hoses, they're only £50 new. I got my full HEL kit for £15 brand new.

Try posting on www.mcnninjas.co.uk first.

eBay will eventually catch you when they see the auction and bids coming from the same IP, and you'll be banned.

Will they? Don't be so sure, and even if you did get banned it's not exactly hard to open another account.

On the whole it's easier just to put it at a low start price and let it get bid up by actual buyers and pull it if bidding doesn't get high enough

You specfically cannot pull auctions cos you've ended it early. You can always end it early by selling it to the current high bidder, but eBay don't like people finishing auctions early selling outside of eBay so you just tell them that it's been lost or broken so no longer available for sale.

Except for the bikes that say

'This bike is advertised elsewhere so i reserve the right to end the auction early'

If its been stated then its not illegal advertising and therefore legal, but somewhat against eBays policy.

By ban, they mean, your account, email paypal and Ip adress so i think its best just to get someone else to bid on the item from another place, say, your uncle or something.

I'm doing about ebay and all that in my ICT at school, which is why i know a little about whats legal or illegal, you can sell most things on ebay as long as it would be legal at an auction or shop...i.e. weapons cannot be sold...

Put it on with no reserve but start the auction at say, £70 and put a good write up on...Auto-sol it and make it look nice, you could even photoshop the image to make it look shinier! Very Happy I'd do that gladly for you if you wanted.

James...

Bought my brand new titanium scorpion for £80 off eBay, and brand new goodridge front and back for my old blade for £10!

I look for the bargains though, have a look if there is any similar to yours on at the minute.

Thumbs Up
