Help for my derbi gpr 50

Hey i am 16 and want to get some more speed out of my new derbi gpr 50 without derestricting it fully because of the law about restriction even though my bike does 43 mph fully restricted if anyone has any ideas on how to get it faster it would be apriciated

i said without derstricting it like jeting the carberator but i dunno how to do it so anyone who has owned this bike or knows how to do it on derbi's i would be thankfull

if you change the jetting you will be derestricting it, anything giving it more power will be de-restricting. if you want a faster bike, wait till your 17, do your full test and buy a 400 or 125 thats a better option.

lol, i dont belive you for some reason, it can be done by yourself, but is it a new model? you'll void your warrenty, so if it breaks your stuck with a broken bike.

yes its the new 2007 model and ok i didnt know that but i think my warranty runs out after a year maybe two i carn't remember and i dont want to loose my bike i haven't really got of it since i got it i am not riding it at the moment because i am ill so i thought i would research it a bit

heres the best thing to do, take it easy, you need the road smarts more than your speed. just learn your bike inside out before you look into derestricting or moding it, once you get used to biking and used to all the wankers of the road you'll be able to handle your bike better, remember this, every fucker out there is out to get you, and they will kill or injure you and not take responseability.

yeah i know i need experiance on my bike i have done about 480 miles in 2 to 3 weeks and i already had to replace my clutch level and re-wire it witch i mainly did myself so i starting to learn my bike and i know where the parts are on it and yeah my mum says the same about other drivers

also the cold months are coming up and theres diesel everywhere already 2 bikers from this forum have hit the stuff, try and anticipate other car drivers moves, they never indicate these days, always expect the unexpected, that ones helped save my skin plenty times. its always best to start taking lessons on how to use the roads better, and ur test is next year if you decide to do it.

cheers for the advice will use it it wont be to long untill i am 17 about 6 months. I am less worried about the cold at the moment because its not cold enough for ice yet but the rain is a bit dodgy i have almost slide of my bike on a roundabout when it was thundering with rain the other day got any tips how to ride better in the rain? or is it just practice and knowing your bike?

in the rain? easy, relax, if you relax your riding you'll be less jerky and the bike will respond better, how you relax is upto you, as everyones different, the smoother you ride will make it easier.
i ride in the rain often to get used to it, all i really do is try and flow with the bike, if you stay rigid on it then your gunna end up fighting with it.
learn to control your clutch and throttle, well on a 50 there wont be much control there to be gained but if you know where all the power is etc that will help you in the wet too, theres plenty guides in magazines bout riding in the wet, they'll help you alot better, but thats basically the bear essentials.

easy as just a normal ride, i got a few minors but a pass is still a pass. my instructor is like a best mate (i should visit him for free brews lol) he told me to treat the test like a lesson so i did an passed. i would of get less minors if it wasnt for my delayed indicators.

not really, i should post one up, i have new original fairings for it which i cant wait to fit, wanna get some stainless steel faring kit for it first and a suspension kit for the back. due for a service soon tbh. was going to put r6 fairing on it but just lost interest and once i found them fairings couldnt be arse, have r6 calipers to put on yet though. better stoppin power. you gotta post up some pics of your in the general bike pic section, get yourself introduced at the same time.

oh right sounds like its going to be a beast carnt wait to see it when its finished and yeah sounds like a good idea i best be of as i got to find some work boots for the course i doing at coledge thank you for all the advice and i will put some pics up soon cheers mate

have you tried a steep west facing slope with the wind behind you this gets them going ,i have seen them achieve terminal velocity when thrown off a cliff the othere way of course is to either rejet the carb or buy a biger one and put a freeflowing exhaust system on, you may also be able to buy a big barrel piston kit

all in all the engine wont last as long when tuned and you will be buying new pistons and reboreing it on a regular basis

if you want faster then get a bigger bike when your old enough!

this is the real honest solution to increase speed and power
