Yeah fuck it, what's the point in having a suggestions forum when there's not even anyone here that can make the changes?

"Motivating your minions 101: A suggestions box is a great way to increase morale, as people love to think their views are being taken on board. The best bit is, you don't even have to read them."

Would seem to make sense for Korn to pass admin of the site to someone who visited occasionally.

Killa's dream

I'd still be up for a 'How to' section

i.e

How to...

Ride in groups
Ride in poor conditions
Prepare you bike for ******
Maintain riding gear
Begin amateur racing

Examples....

Im sure there are enough people on here with knowlege of phpbb that could help admin this site?

Does anybody have contact with Korn? if not theres always the possibility that this site could simply go down one day and never come back up and then we will all have to go and do some work Confused

phpbb is p*ss easy to use. Bishbash and myself are admins on a phpbb forum and it is the easiest thing in the world to manage. Was set up originally be someone else though, I think I would have struggled with that.

to be fair I could set up and configure a site like this one inside of 24 hours, including domain registration and everything.

Setting up phpbb takes a few minutes, then you install the mods you want like karma, attachements etc, the longest part is actually waiting for the domain to go live.

Not that you would want to start afresh because there is so much info and members in here, but if the site has actually been abandoned....

Come on Korn say it isnt so, you havent abandoned us have you?

Korn coded Karma pretty much from scratch i believe, i'm sure unless you meant 24 hours straight you couldn't do it Wink.

If Korn wrote this karma mod that hats off to him, he did a top notch job, but a quick search or phpbb.com does reveal a number of karma mods

So i still think something similar could be producted Wink

BUT thats not what we want, we want KORN we want KORN we want KORN... or at least him to apoint a couple of admins. Very Happy

Well he last posted on the 17 Apr 2007

And his last post before that was on the 10 Feb 2007!

So ....... were are you Korn ???

No point being the only person able to make changes if you are never around, you have, what, 4 mods ? I'm sure one of them could look after the site well you are not around ?

Thumbs Up

I run a forum and it's piss to set up and run(Killa, when I PM'd you, I never got round to it but it's still there if it would help in any way-not the best but..). Problem is, gettig someone you trust to take any charge, I'm not saying Korn(where are these posts?) doesn't trust any of the MODS because otherwise they wouldn't be mods, but I think it would help to have a mod with admin or "number one(Startrek)" status. Smile

True trust is a key issue, but a forum like this is too big to be a one man show, especially when its based on a fairly risky activity, this isnt needlecraftforums.com, what is it they say a biker is 16 times more likely to be killed per mile than a cager.

Touch wood Korn is safe and well, but with one man in control there are plenty of reasons that this site could disapear never to be seen again.

You need a couple of admin/developers who have full access to the site and are able to modify it, along with a number of mods to do the day to day tasks. between them they make the discisions kind of like a board of directors would.

Thats what happens with most business, the ones making money end up not giving a fuck about anything but that.

How do you know that isn't the case? Rolling Eyes

As forums are so piss easy to setup and run, how come pretty much all the BCF rip offs end up failing? www.bcf-renegades.com being the latest.

Because the mods on here say there are only 4 mods and that Korn is the only admin

The technical aspect of setting up a forum is "piss easy" the dificulty comes in getting members, so it would seem wise to listen to your members and there feedback even if its simply a case of saying "we have no plans to add an rss feed"

If you dont keep your members happy (after all thats where the income for the site comes from) then the leave, the income drops and everybody looses.
