Anyone on Sky broadband?

Having any problems with connection speed?

I'm on up to 8mb, and usually get around 5-6mb download

Right now and for the past couple of hours, ive been getting 0.07mb which is around 56k speeds

Anyone else with sky bb having similar problems?

using that test im getting

Download Speed: 144 kbps (18 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 276 kbps (34.5 KB/sec )

a faster upload speed than download

guess i'll leave it till morning and see how it is, then call if no better


Tried resetting modem, and rebooting pc with no success

Is mine normal upto 8meg here on Orange

3415 D/l and 245 upload.

My D/loads seem to take forever now tho.

all depends on area aswell tho, im in london so will et the strongest connection - does seem alittle weak tho...just compair it to mine & im 8mb aswell, id expect it to be down abit but not that much

Not sure what happened last night, maybe they had line problems or something.

Not sure about your thread, i dont see why you get the error, and i couldnt find anyway to set up the workgroup manually.

Still the same this morning, well down by 5kbs.
Should I ring Orange and ask whats going on?
I buggered my modem wire so brought a hi transfer one 100mbs? for £15 thought it would work better but obviously hasnt.

On my wanadoo BB status its 6.4mbps

louise i would maybe enquire about it yea, the wire you've brought supports that speed but you aint ever gonna test that wire to its limits, probs uses that amount when its direct PC - PC conn

Its not just about the line speed. Contention ratio is more inprotant..
If your in a build up area that has more adsl connections you will get a good line speed like 8mb but the threwput it shared...
