Could You Put Distance In On A VFR

i was wondering, would you be able to ride a VFR to the south of france or germany?

or is it not the kind of bike that would be advisable on?

can you carry much luggage on it?

cos they are old, is it hard to fix things when it goes wrong or get parts?

parts shouldn't be a problem, but make sure you have it well serviced before you go, because the engines are difficult to work on due to the compact size, and you need a special tool for some parts of it, i think its setting valve clearances. just make sure you know a bit about it first.
