Just about to go to bed and what to I see out the corner of my eye. A spider hot footing it behind my bed Shocked

For those who dont know, I am very very scared of spiders. This one doesnt fall into the huge category but still big enough to scare me.

I've pulled the bed out as best I can but cant see it so it must be under the bed Shocked Confused

Argh I aint getting any sleep tonight Sad

Fucking spiders.

You may laugh all you like but I'll still be petrified of em! Laughing

It's probably hiding in your pillow case, waiting for you to put your head down. Sitting there, waiting...with those 8 beady eyes. Bet it was one of these fuckers too...:

And then kablamo, he's on your face before you can even muster up an "eek".

I saw a spider on the wall nr my bed just before going to bed the other night, wasnt massive wasnt tiny was just about 1cm, just said hello little matey to it and went to sleep Smile it was more scared seeing me the lil thing disappeared into a corner quickly. So what if it crawled on me in the night (this is just me, obv other people feel diff ways to the wee things!)

hey isn't there some random quote that you're supposed to eat/swallow whatever a certain average number spiders while your actually asleep? heard it mentioned before just a random piece of useless information, maybe someone else here may have heard it.

At one of the refuges I lived in, everyone (including me) was terrified of the big late summer spiders. One girl even found one climbing in her clothes Shocked Shocked Shocked across her boobs Shocked Shocked Shocked

But I used to get the job of spider killer, once I discovered how much they do NOT like Flash Bathroom Spray.

Half a dozen direct squirts, and they're toast, mate.

They don't like it up 'em, Mr Mainwaring.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Get a tin of the red Raid ant killer, this makes Boris turn his toes up quicker than anything other than a blunt instrument. I spray all the joints, nooks, crannies and crevices in my shed with this to keep the spiddies at bay.

I just set the dog on em, I actually quite like em but the missus is petrified!

The dog chases them then puts his paw on them to get em to stop, and then obviously they die!

Tis funny to watch.

I'm sort of like that except if i know they are there i won't care.

But, if i see one and then it disappears then i will want to know where its gone, if i don't know i can't do anything until i know Laughing

I used to love spiders as a kid, used to put them in my sisters bedroom (evil brothers hey Cool as she is absolutley scared shitless by them, and moths.

I think what made it worse for me was when i was about 9, getting dressed for school one morning i felt something on my leg as i pulled my trousers up (no, it wasn't the trouser leg).....it felt creepy and i think it crawled.

Took my trousers off and fook me, there was a spider bigger than my bloody head! Inside my trouser leg!

For months after that i checked every nook and cranny of my clothes incase there was a spider in there, and now you have brought the subject up i will probably start doing the same now for a couple of months...git! Laughing

OMG i freaked at the pics in this thread!

I am scared of the house spider the one with the body the size of a prune and moves like lightning!

Instigator if you dare tell me that thing lived in pillows i will never sleep again!

i went into my room a few days ago and i seen one in the dark the curtains! size of my hand! freaked out ! send Oh in to dispose of it while i stayed at the end of the hall threatening him if he pretended to catch it and fool me! but he didnt my dad tried that when i was a kid so i dont trust people with spiders.

I have one living in my garage his name is Derek, i dont bother him and he dosnt bother me when i go in there but i think he will jump of the wall and get me Embarassed

There was one in our bedroom a couple of weeks ago. I'm not keen on em, but the g/f is terrified and refuses to go to bed until its gone. It was right in the corner of the the room where the ceiling meets the walls. A huge bugger it was. I got the hoover out and went for it with the extension pipe. The bugger was gripping on the edge of the pipe and wouldn't give up. I had to rattle the pipe a bit before it lost its grip and got sucked into the dustbag.
That'll show it who's boss. Very Happy

Last night while on BCF IRC I noticed a four inch spanned one walking up the wall 15-20cm's away from me only spotted it out the corner of my eye, I haven't jumped like that in a few years. as the winters coming more and more are looking for warmer refuge, best thing is to kill them as putting them outside will only give them chance to get back in again. It's not like they're extinct is it? Laughing

Well, I was planning to use the boots to tread on the spiders - but I suppose that your idea has some merit: I can't see spiders being able to dart about in a sneaky fashion if they are forced to wear 8 size 11 Magnums!!

Yep. I've seen it on birthday cards ... "by the time you're n years old... you'll have eaten n spiders in your sleep"...

Thanks heaps. I haven't yet met anyone who was pleased to know that.

I do the glass & beer mat thing and sling 'em outside. Kitty quite likes a play with Mr Spider but I think it's cruel. Even ugly things have the right to live Karma

when i was a nipper my friend told me that his uncle died because spiders crawled in his mouth during his sleep and laid eggs in his brains. HONEST!

so i was shitting it till quite recently then realised that it probably would not happen.

they are ok if you treat them like friends
and they kill mosquitos and flies which are the real bastards of the world!

fucking mozzies Thumbs Up Mr. Green
