Im just sat here messing about on the pc and listening to my annoying next door neighbour playing with his kid, lots of banging around and squealing, sounds like great fun.
Thing is, this kid is not even at school yet, i reckon he is 3 years old ( ish ). So shouldnt he be in bed by now. This happens every night too, i reckon the kid goes to bed at about 9-9:30 pm.
Anyone on here got kids of a similar age ?

My niece and nephew (2 and 1) go to bed at around 7. So i can't play loud music in the evening and the fuckers wake me up at 7am with all sorts of noises.

My youngest (2 in dec ) goes to bed at 7, the other two ( 7 and 10 ) go any time between 7:30 and 8:00, a bit later at weekends.
If they go to bed any later they are grumpy as hell the next day Rolling Eyes

The Dad next door is probably trying to knacker them out. Have patience with young families, it's not easy.

Yeah same here 8 and 10 go to bed around 8pm eldest reads for up to an hour. When they were younger they went to bed a lot earlier, if they go to bed after 9pm they're evil the following day.

I used to put Anita to bed by 7.30 at that age (but only so I could watch Eastenders in peace)

Trouble with young kids, you let them stay up dead late, they still wake up just as bloody early & full of energy!!! Shocked Confused

As there is no law on bedtime for people of a certain age, you cant get SS involved, how about knocking on and asking him to be quiet?

He probably doesn't even know you are pissed off if you have not done that already.

Sometimes Josh would still be awake till 9-10pm - even after being up at 7am, all day at nursery and still has tons of energy left.
Normally sits and watchs the tweenies in bed.
Now my mum (as im working alot of evenings) turns everything off at 7pm. He has a squinny but falls asleep.
Tonight he fell to sleep around 6:50pm so its a good sign he is getting into a routine.

My next door neighbour thinks it's normal to have her 2-year-old up at 11pm. She seems to be forcing the child to have the same schedule as her. The little girl screams all the bloody time the next day, every day... Evil or Very Mad

Amen to that!

I don't anticipate making my daughter's bedtime any later than this until we have #2. Even so 9:30 pm is ridiculous.

I wasn't allowed up till that late until I was like 15 I think!!

(Although I did spend a good hour reading by the light of the moon behind my window curtains!)

2 1/2 year old all of the above except bottle. Thumbs Up

But no matter what time she goes to bed she is up between 7:30 and 7:45 without fail.

Bit of a moot question.

Mine stay locked in their room all day, don't really care when the go to bed. I just slide some slops through a hatch at the bottom of their door and let them get on with it.

I'll continue to do this until they're old enough to work in my mill or down't pit.

Thumbs Up

(On a serious note: Do really young kids need more or less sleep than adults? I'd have thought less; the earlier they go to bed the earlier they get up the following morning. Confused Its been my experience that from 10 upwards its impossible to get them to go to bed then impossible to get them out of it in the morning.)

My youngest 9years goes at 9-930 and reads for a couple hours, and before anyone says isnt that a bit late well she is also up at about 6am and full steam ahead till about 11pm, she doesn't sleep never has done, not even as a baby could I get her to sleep in pram or car. She does my head in. Personally i think thats why her dad don't bother with her visiting him cos he can't cope lol

My eldest 12 goes about 10pm and generally crashes as soon as hishead hits pillow, but still good at getting up at half 7 each day.

So, its a bit late then.
Ive been round to complain about the amount of noise he was making in the mornings. The little brat would wake them up about 6 and then daddy would make loads of noise, sing a bit and then on the last few days before i went round he broke out the guitar for a singalong. All this before 7am !!!
He doesnt work, which pisses me off a bit as he gets to sit around all day reading the guardian and being philosophical, while i have to do a days work.
