Well we gave into Kat and said she could buy this Kitten she really liked.
Altho the other cat Nelly wont be impressed.
Well here he is - But with some problems

Meet Edy (Dont ask, something to do with there work colleague)

12 weeks old...........

He has a couple of problems tho - And before we take to the vets I want to see if theres another way.
Over the phone the previous owner didnt say anything bad about the kitten.
Upon arrival she said 'He has a watery eye' Oh, and has diarrhea.
Well, Ive never smelt an animal this bad - he farts and its loud as he wonders along pass. Couldnt help but laugh tho.
She said she had been feeding him on boiled chicken - Has this upset his stomach? We have Whiskers kitten food - eats the pouch and still wants more - he is a gutty thing.

What can I try? Been told Chicken and rice in small portions?
Told he has been wormed but, maybe coz he is hungry all the time he still has them? Im off out to buy some tablets soon anyway and flee stuff.

Advice?! Never had any probs with the last kitten - and Edy is just a ball of fluff Mr. Green

Bathe his eye with cotton wool soaked in tepid water. If the eyes look red and sore, or the discharge is green and sticky then he might have conjunctivitis and need to be taken to your vet for treatment.

As for the flea and worming stuff. I wouldnt bother with the shop bought stuff, its not as effective and more complicated to use than the stuff bought at vets (although I get mine, much cheaper from here: www.petmeds.co.uk )

I used drontal tablets for worming and Frontline Spot for flea control, for my cat.

As for the tummy problems......., dietry, food intolerance, a chronic infection, worms or some other medical condition.....could be anything. Maybe a trip to vets might be needed.

Maybe Stinkwheel will be able to advise you.

ped meds are way cheaper than vets, a 12 week old will need worming a sure sign is a pot belly. cute kitten though

heres my latest addition chilling out with my other half and my other cats, hes the white and black one, bear in mind hes 17 weeks old there and nearly the same size as the others but hes a maine coon and will carry on growing until hes between 3 and 4 which should be interesting.

Keep to the kitten food, other stuff may be too rich for him. The will only eat until they are full. A friend of mine has a 20wk old cat and he is on 3 pouches a day minimum.

You have to remember they play, play, play and that uses allot of energy.

Have a look hare for more. . . . Click on the "Kitten Care pack" for freebies. Wink

My cat gets diarrhea off certain food
As he is a kitten chicken may be too rich for him.
I would try they kitten food for a few days and if theres no change maybe take him to a vet.
Also has he been given any milk? As the lactose in the milk gives them the trots aswell.

Not sure about the watery eye though

My 'Puddles' is 6 months old now and he's been on adult Whiskers and Felix for 3 months.
He's not a fan of chicken or fish but loves roast beef..

Anyway.. You should take him to the vets ASAP as dioreah will casue dehydration, this in turn could lead to kidney problems, same as killed my 'Poppy' in April.
Leting a kitten continue with the squits is not an option.
The problem may lay in the change of food, 'Science Plan' kitten dry is good for them, however, let the vet advise you.

kittens are ace.

we just had 4 and their mother move into our garden. We are certain they are stray, so have been feeding them and will continue to do so until the CPL can home them for . Heres a vid of us starting to feed them up and get them used to human contact
