https://houghi.org/tomtom/index.php

Allows you to plot a route using the new google maps (ie drag roads, add waypoints etc) then convert into an ITN file for use in tomtom directly.

Just been using it to plot a ride out tomorrow and it works really well - just use googlemaps, copy the link and paste it into the site above and it saves the file to your desktop. Copy it into the ITN folder on the TOMTOM and then load it from the Itinery screen.

So much easier than plotting routes in the tomtom direct Smile

Great find!
I'll just have to play around now and try to find some way of going from google earth files to a tomtom itinerary.

I find google maps easier to use than google earth. Just put in a start and end point (which need only be a street away from each other) then start dragging out other waypoints from that initial line. Paste the link into that site and the ITN file is created - job done Smile

Just one tip though, once you've got your route mapped in Google map, go along it and click in a load of waypoints, because TOMTOM will work its own route out based on the waypoints only, so the route between them could differ unless you place waymarks in such a way that tomtom wont find another route.

I used it today on my lakes trip and it was perfect. So much easier to plot a good looking route, on roads you just wouldnt notice on the tomtom due to its clunky interface.
