Hi all, another question (sorry)
I'm looking at end cans for the Hornet, but have come across other cans for sv's, bandits etc, now will these go straight on the Hornet? Surely the link pipe size is the same? Karma cookies will be given. ____________________ Banned till April 2011. |

No, link pipe "surely" isn't the same at all. The fitment for specific bikes isn't ALWAYS the same but as a rough guide:
A hornet will take the same can from an sv650, cbr600 (Newer models 00 onwards), bandit 650, R6. Most are 50-51mm internal Diameter slip ons. But some manufacturers do different fitments - Ixil use the 3 bolt fitment for all their exhausts, akrapovic use springs to fit onto their own link pipes etc. Most of the time you'll be alright - If it doesn't fit, then sell it on. Just make ure you get it cheap in the first place. |

May well fit, but you'll need a link pipe.
The stock Hornet can has about 6 inches of pipe work welted onto it, so when you remove it you'll not be able to just attach a can.
The stock can clamps to the headers just before it comes up through the swingarm. Have a look, you'll see where it clamps on and get the idea.
In short you'll at least need a link pipe.
And I assume you mean the BlueFlame EVO 3 tri-oval.
They don't list it on their site, but the BSD site still lists it, so I assume it's still available. I was after one, but then went for the Akra, which incidently I'm selling and uses the same system as the stock can, so has no link pipe.
