Accidents:

Had a decent car accident in my fiesta went into a chicane style bend with cobble stones either side of it and trying to hit the racing lines.

Well it was having none of that and went and swung to the left then slid right, then up the bank went into the ditch then kinda of went and done a down the road 540.

The whole time I think all was being said was sh*t.

We climbed out and pushed it on its wheels and out of the ditch and drove it home battered. Smashed windscreen, most of the panels dented and the steering wheel was also bent was a strange experience driving it home the look on my old mans face when he saw it was priceless.

Also managed to mount a central reservation with the punto and smash the front right drivers wheel.

Got away with:

Was ragging the punto down some back roads. Only had my licence all of 2 days. And an old Rover 800 (big ol tank) was on coming, I kinda moved over a bit in an attempt not to slow down.

The min I done that I clipped the bank and my rear end shot out side ways and this car was feet away, some how the car righted itself and popped back straight just in time. I remember the whole thing is slow mo cause all I could see was the front bumper of the rover

Slowed down after that and turned the cd player off and still to this day I can't go down that part of the Overthorpe road with out turning the music down


Me and one mate were in the calibra and my other mate and his girl friend was in his escort behind us me and him had, had a chat about were we were going to go for a quick rally-driving esque session there was a road near Tewkesbury (near Gloucester) that was perfect had a river that had ford the lot.

We set off I let him lead the way cause of his extreme 1.4 powah. We got there and started to drive like prats. I over took him some how, still don't know how we fit through any ways made it by and saw the ford and sped up god knows why I thought it would look cool with the rooster tails etc.

Any ways I didn't take into account that it had rained a few days ago and it may be a bit a higher and my sunroof was open.

Well I hit it at about 40mph. The water according the my mate behind us went about 20 feet in the air and the car vanished for a few seconds.

The water came pooring through the sun roof allover me and my mate then the car stalled in the water which was about 1 foot up the door and if any one has ever been in a calibra thats somewhat worrying

Thank god it started back up and suprisngly was undamaged. Free clean as well.

I have a few more but don't want to make the first post massive

Years ago I was passenger with my step mother driving. Going up a hill. The van in front suddenly dived left, revealing a car rolling down the hill. Driver had some kind of fit and jammed one foot on the accelerator and one on the clutch. Nowhere for my stepmother to go so it took out the side of the car.

Few years after that my father way driving. In snow. Coming out of Comber onto a dual carraigeway on which the left lane was pretty clear and the right lane was unmarked snow. Car pulled out and dawdled. My father tried going onto the unmarked snow covered lane, just using the speed he already had. Car went one way, then the other, then back the first way, off the dual carraigeway, sliced a hedge in 2 and embedded itself in a gate post. Definatly remember that as we sliced from the hedge, with bits of it going over the bonnet (we were going sideways at that moment) I was thinking "we are going to wreck a decent car here".

Similar time heading back home with some friends, 5 of us in an old Fiesta. Fairly hard cornering pulled a drive shaft out. That meant a long walk home pushing the car (well, push it up the hills, jump on the roof for the down hill bits).

Accidents:

I think the funniest one in my car was me parking up the kurb (it's dubai, you can do what you like) had a meal in a shopping centre with a couple of mates.

We all jumped into my wagon and there was no car behind us so i started reversing when i hear a dull thud as my left rear wheel went back onto the tarmac and then another thud far too early fo it and to be my right rear wheel.

I contemplate the situation as my car was bought to a stop relatively quickly. Hmm, slowly started letting the clutch out and carried on reversing. I got back another foot or so and i start to hear a voice shouting/cursing/yelling in arabic so i stop and rip up the handbrake and jump out.

I walk round the back of the car and i see a red Toyota Corolla about a foot away from when the driver had originally parked and a huge fuck off dent in his passenger window and passenger window smashed where my big metal bumper had pushed it in.

Ooops.

The other one in not so many words. It was a very windy day in Dubai so naturally i hoofed it off down the beach in the same wagon as mentioned about.

The beach i kitesurf on is Jebal Ali beach and you basically drive and park on the shoreline despite the sand being incredibly deep and soft for the last ten metres or so.

I spot a group of my friends cars and start doing the childish thing with 4 wheel drive 3.0 V6 1989 Pajero. Powersliding. To the left to the right to the left to the right to the left to the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Rolled it onto the left hand side, a high side if you will

Got away with:

Well in dubai the main road running parralel to the beach road called the beach road (surprise, surprise ) and is 3 lanes on either side.

Each junction is covered in the stones/blocks you can see on the pavement in this picture.

Curiously enough they are very slippery in dry conditions, never mind when they're wet.

So a week after i'd had my license my friend decided to brush up on his hand brake drifting skills and i thought i would see how my car faired chucking the rear out under powah.

The result was me and my friend drifting round one of these junctions and then pulling up into a petrol station 100 metres or so afterwards. After we had got out of the car and he had lit a fag (health and safety regulations? pfft.) a Mercedes SL500 comes screaming into the station and comes to a very abrupt stop near us.

A local in his dish dash gets out and starts yelling at us in arabic for our licenses. I questioned him and asked to see ID, he obliged so i handed over my license.

He started writing down fines for the both of us for wreckless driving but when he noticed the date issued on my license, i shit you not, he ripped them up in front of us and apologised and congratulated us on our driving skills
