Common house spider.

If you go outside at the right time of year at the right time of night you will see the front of your house literally crawling with lots and lots of these little beggars Laughing

Its a house spider, probably a male looking for a mate. You don't want to know the male to female ratio as she wont sleep tonight.

A few years back the wife found one and I caught it at arms length and proceeded to throw it out in the car park. As it landed, it started to run back towards the flat and me! At this point I started to do an impression of Basil Falwty and stomped the hell out of it. The funny thing was that I was wearing an old pair of the wifes slippers in public Laughing

In the next few days, we found quite a few in the flat Whistle Silence

pfft get a real spider in your house.

We get these ones here in oz.
They don't tend to bite so you can just grab em when theyre inside and chuck em out the door.

I found another spider on the side of my mattress when I went to bed lastnight. Got some tissue to splat it with but by the time I got back it'd gone. Ended up having to strip the entire bed down, turn the base over and it was nowhere to be seen. Had to go to bed knowing there was probably a spider somewhere in my bedding Crying or Very sad Can't understand how they're getting into my bed since I pulled it out into the middle of the room either, I hate this house.

I once had a nightmare ages ago which consisted of me waking up. And seeing a floor literally covered in spiders climbing all over me. Since then ive detested them. i saw one of those ( top piccie ) run across my floor. I just nabbed my pillows and fucked of downstairs.

Funny you should say that. I have these dreams at least twice a week.

I 'wake' up and see spiders everywhere. There on my bed and on me. I usual tend to chuck my bedding all over the floor before leaping off my bed to 'safety'. (When i say leap i mean leap, and its from the top of a double bunk!)

There was many a time id be shaken awake by the ex GF becuase i was trying to squash the invisible spiders Laughing

Sleep tight, try not to worry to much about the spiders!

i must say, spiders scare the living shit out of me, especially the house spiders they are MASSIVE.
There was one in my bedroom, i actually heard it fall on the floor it was that big, i couldn't move for about 5 minutes had to get my mam out of bed to kill it Laughing

We couldn't work out where they were coming from until i was bored one night and wondered why my wallpaper was coming off when i realised there was i big hole in the wall by my window... Where my pillows are...

i'm not as bad now as i am usually terrified of the tiny ones Embarassed

You would have hated it yesterday, I was at an antiques fair at RAF Swinderby, and thousands of money spiders were floating in on the wind. Spent hours scraping them off my face every couple of minutes.

Haha, pussies the lot of you.

I used to have one of these bitches on my curtain in first year.
The females dont really roam, or fly and when adult they dont moult anymore ergo they dont need the humidity of a container.

Used to be a great laugh when i brought birds back and forgot to tell em Laughing
They watch you walk around constantly aswell. Creeps people out merrily.

With the exception of some land crabs and funnel web spiders i dont think many (terrestrial) arthropods could take it down. It was a good 20+ g. The fucker would happily eat lizards aswell.

My dad reckoned one place he stayed (possibly jakarta) they had to stick the four corners of the bed in pots of disinfectant to (try and) stop the cockroaches. They bite shit out of you overnight anyway, after enough had filled the pot.

Might be micky mouse, but most admit its enough to creep me out a tad.

Dont understand quite the line in the sand people have with cockroaches but not other insects. I know plenty of sane reasonable people who can tolerate spiders, wasps etc. But cockroaches... its sitting on a chair shreaking time.

The ones in gran canaria were beautiful drab brown, fair sized and quite slow. I got a reputation on our complex for animal bothering cos of my dissertation. One woman refused to go back into her apartment until someone sorted out the 'cockroach'. I went in and found a absolutely beautiful fruit BEETLE. Almost spherical it was so domed, and a good 5g. And it was a lovely pearlescent blue.

How the hell can you think thats a cockroach ? Neutral

I don,t really mind spiders after spending years on the farm and constantly rescuing people from them (namley my sis and my partner) Laughing My saying is they are more scared of you!
One thing that does creep me out are earwigs, they come out from everywhere and they are not subtle like spiders.

Got a spider problem?
Answer - Get a cat
I love watching cats chase them round the house.
