I go in ther to spend a pound, get what I want, go to the till, fucking £24!

Bastards, they said everything for a pound, no wonder the cunts make so much money. Used to go in with a pound coin and that was it, now they accept fucking card payments.

Yeah, can't knock pound shops Thumbs Up Dollar shops out in Canada were good even though they put the tax on top of the sale price (was only a few cents so can't complain). Exchange rate mean't it worked out to roughly 50p in GBP Drooling

I thought you had to pay tax on everything but can claim it back afterwards on exiting the country if you're only visiting. Not sure on being able to flash your passport and not pay tax? Confused

Methinks if all the crap in the shop was worth over a pound they would quickly go out of buisiness Laughing

You're not wrong there, Mrs.
I bought Andy a set of cutlery (£4.99!) and the first time we used it, the damn stuff just bent and broke, just on cutting sausages.

Mind you we also got a set of cheapo carving knives for six quid, I think, and they were so sharp, Andy cut himself twice. So he went back to the shop and told the guy they were so sharp that they needed to be out of reach of kids (of all ages) and not just sitting in a box on the floor.

The whole point, the reason why they never go out of business, is cos you just chuck it away and get a new one. They've already had your pound, they're not bothered.

I like to look in them for funky ceramic ashtrays. I've got some well cool ones, several in the shape of open fag packets (mostly Marlboro Lights, I had a Camels one, but I gave it away) ... and also one of those ones with the spinning top thing, which has got big red ceramic lips all around it. I steer clear of those naff ones with the ganga man under a palm tree on them, though. Those are just nasty. Laughing

I went to the pound shop today.

Bought a wooly hat and a pair of gloves, fair enough, £2, and a pair of earphones which turned out cack.

Pissed me off.

If everything in a pound shops costs a pound could you pay £1 and walk out with the till full of money?

Or pay £1 and take home the cute girl working on the checkout?
