I called him and he says it has about 5000 miles now cause it's a new engine that's been put in and he has receipts for that. It looks like a really good deal so I'll go there and try it tomorrow or the day after. What should I be looking for? Is this a good bike? Reliable? Durable? I need advice and I need it fast.

is it a zxr400?

currently exchange is £=about 2thirds of euro??

if thats about right then 66p=1euro,

that makes this 1997 zxr400 around £2200 which seems pretty high to me.

unfortunately i dont know what they sell for in spain anyway so it may be a fantastic deal over there.. here it seems a little high.

edit-done an exchange rate online and its £2440.. thats well expensive. can get 200 bike over here for less than that.

5000 km's is almost brand new, take a look, as its such low milage should look and feel brand new so should be easy to see if he's played with the speedo.
Lot of people do 5000 km a month..
Not sure bout the price thou. check out MCN.com and compare prices for similar bike (which are usually on the high side).
is it zxr or a zx7r ??

Don't think anyone on here ( apart from you ) is from that part of the world.

In the UK the engine number is on the registration documents so can be checked when buying.

If the bike has "huge" mileage you should see the wear and tear signs. Lots of scrapes, worn grips etc...

The bike probably has a huge milage. But the engine was bought secind hand with low milage I think. He say's he has receipts... But he doesn't seem to know fook all about bikes... I could use that to my advantage though
