Some things look like Carbon and are not. The only way to tell is this.
Compare two parts, one costs £22 and the other £128. Guess which one is CF?
Beware of CF on ebay, a lot is just snide GPS.

Nothing says 'stupid and pointlessly vain' more than a lovely bit of faux-carbon tat.

Thumbs Up

Note also that sticking on 'carbon-look' parts where there wasn't anything before will not make your bike either lighter or faster.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Fake carbon is only slightly more common than fake Guchi and looks about as realistic.

I'm a massive fan of the real stuff.

Would love a gixxer thou with a full carbon fibre body kit. Drooling

But don't go over the top on a naked bike as it doesn't look that good alot of the time.

If it is second hand then you have to take into account that CF has a
time life to where it will fall apart. Thumbs Up

According to yoshi exhausts the carbon fibre will last if you repack the exhaust every 5000 miles (8 hours use on a dirt bike).

I mean who here has repacked their race can Laughing

Five years is what I have been told but if it is on a shelf for some time
then you can't tell for sure how old it is.

I'm not sure whether Powerbronze products are real carbon.

The examples I've seen certainly look fake, and even if they're not, that's not a great sign...
