MCN is looking for Triumph Speed Triple owners for a special 10 year anniversary road test. We'd like to know five things that you love about the bike, whether you've got one of the first models or a newer 955i-based machine. We only need a few sentences on each point and it could be used in a future MCN test.

And if you need reminding about any information on the Triumph, then why not visit our Bike reviews section by following the link on the right, or post a message on the Speed Triple message board in Discussion and Chat

Email matt.wildee@emap.com with the five things you love about the Speed Triple

Not sure about the it's British bit though - is that a good thing? Razz

Seriously though, I've never ridden one so what do I know?

I thought the 955 brakes were ok.

Wohoo! - although you also told me that it was easier to hang off of then the R6 and that you thought that the engine felt good, just no step in the power delivery.

Shame I didn't get it on tape! Very Happy

...and its British! Wink

Yeah, the reason it was running so fast was as it had heated up the carb had expanded a bit and slipped from the collar and created an air leak.

That coupled with the fact it was dieseling meant rev, rev, rev, smokey, smokey, smokey, panic Mr Manering.... Silence (as it ran out of petrol) Laughing

I'll have to give it a run up and down the street but when I stripped it down there was no real wear anywhere and all seemed good and well. Very Happy

There's an amusing bit on the video where you pull over and try to turn it off, without much success. Was strange the kill switch didn't work, I thought it should have just stopped the plug sparking?

It was that hot it no longer needed the spark plug sparking, I even pulled the HT lead off but that didn't stop it. Laughing
