Need to decide wether to go for the Leo Vince TT to fit my 2007 Gilera Ice. On one hand,i can afford it pretty easily, but then on the other im going to be tight on petty fuel for a while, having to wait until xmas comes for another 'top up' moneywise, unless i get a job in between now and then. Also is it going to be worth it for the gains i will receive,i.e speed and pull off etc along with 'looks'. At the end of the day im fed up of being stuck at 30mph all day. And i know legally this is all im allowed to do this. BUT,everyone i know generally has there bike de restricted. Now i know this doesnt mean i have to aswell, but i want to. All i will do is fit the pipe and rollers and springs and take the washer out the variator and be done with it. Ive just cracked 300 miles aswell, and cant really see myself going for the first service. I know ive asked a lot of questions,a lot of which based around the same bloody bike, but i just want to get things 'right' and learn in the meantime. So with all of this in mind, please cast your vote.

How old are you?
Sorry for asking, but your spending on a scooter?
Dont get me wrong but when I got my CBT I spent on mine - more then I should have - again with the 125. I wish I hadnt - But I knew I was doing my test within the new year.
Are you doing the same, or due to keep the scooter for a while?
I spent a fortune on the Bandit - I knew I wasnt going to keep it - so why? I dunno - But im doing the same thing at the moment with the SV - Im not going to keep it long.
As long as its rides be happy with it
Dont get your self out of pocket for no reason - I learnt that lesson, never again. |

Louise: Im 16,will keep the Scoot for a year until the day i turn 17,then hop straight onto a 125. I can see exactly where your coming from, and from this,im leaning towards not bothering with the pipe. You all must know what its like though, having your 'baby' and wanting to modify/look after it,with money that you dont really have. |

Yup! My baby the Bandit. Brought for £970 - Bargain - Spent well over 400-500 on the thing within less then a year - sold for £1200
No so bad.
The SV - there things I soooo want to do (just put mini Indis on it) but theres the undertray, tail tidy all thats going to cost £100+
It is hard. I work part time, so money is kinda tight after bills but I still manage to spend
So opened a savers account - this one takes 5 days to clear (No chance of me just adding the card to Paypal and getting bits )
This way Im forcing myself to save and not spend.
On a scooter I would really hold back
If it gets you from A to B leave it alone - save the money for the big boy toys |

the bad thing about buying brand new is putting the crappy leo vince on it or de-rezzin the bike will invalidate your warrenty.

You will be able to de-restrict yourself, if you research it on the internet you'll probably find a guide.
I wouldn't waste money modding a scootay that you know you will sell in a year. I know it would make the bike a little better, but it won't improve it by much.
I'd only bother if you were gonna go all out tuning the scooter, but then I'd say save the money for a 125 if you were gonna do that. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.
