I've realised that I could probably get a much better deal on www.ebay.co.uk than hand to hand in Spain, cause with luck you can get a really nice bike for really cheap...How much would it be to ship all the way here?

you'd be better riding
london to madrid 1000 miles approx
flight midrid to london approx 35euro 1 way with easy jet
the tunnel crossing into france £40 approx
gas 150 euro for 1000 miles
so all up not including any food or hotels i think you could get you and your bike back to spain for less than 250 euros
plus it would be a cool adventure Very Happy

There is a well known scam where people buy from ebay and offer to get their shipping company to collect the bike.

No one who is a genuine seller will entertain the idea of selling you a bike without seeing you face to face, because they'll be worried about forged payments. I'm fairly certain you won't even get past the bidding stage.

If I were you, I'd fly to the UK, look at a few bikes, pick the one you like and ride it back.

Obviously you'll have to re register it as a spanish bike, pay import tax, get it through the spanish type approval system/MOT (if there is one).

Its not as easy as you make it out to be.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

or just leave it on the uk plates and never tax or mot it again,
sort of like what the polish do over here,
just drive on the pl plates and don't have to worry about parking tickets, speed camera fines ect ect,
but if came to sell it in spain you'd have to go through the process of registering it in spain Very Happy

Come and get it and take it back yourself!

The ferry costs for 2 of us and 2 bikes from Portsmouth to Bilbao is only £366 so £183 per person and you get a mini cruise into the bargain. Thumbs Up

Bilbao is about a 6 hour drive from Barcelona...That's quite a lot better than the 20ish from london... I guess all in all with food hotel and all it's about 500 euro right? And then tax and all that. Is it expensive?
