Hi guys.
I need a new downpipe for my hyosung GT125R.
gotta be stainless and cheap.
Nobody makes them standard so ill have to go for somewhere that can make some for me.
The standard one is ok but restricted alot and rusts quick.
Where is cheap (in the UK) and how much am i looking around???
Adam.

you'll have to go to someone who makes exhausts and ask em how much i'm affraid, you sure no one on ebay or anywhere does them? why stainless steel? why not clean yours and paint your exhaust every 4 months or so? provided it isnt riddled with holes.

Without knowing the specifics of the hyosung, the cheapest fix (and its a hyosung, so there's no point spending money on it) is to get a length of car exhaust pipe, and weld the ends from the hyosung pipe onto it. Then give it several coats of barbeque paint.

Hi

Few places around that can make stainless steel exhaust. For example:-

https://www.gazbike.demon.co.uk/

https://www.osmc.co.uk/

Or just ask around locally. Plenty of people who do stainless steel car exhausts who might be able to help (although car places might not have equipment to bend pipe small enough for your bike).

All the best

Keith

no point on spending money on it??

This was an idea as an upgrade from the standard pipe.
Hyosung's are the best selling bike of the past 2 years and have good build quality.
For a cheaper bike they have only slacked on a couple of parts like non s/steel downpipes, cheap chain, cheap tyres and cheap disks.
Apart from that if you rode a hyosung or looked into the hyosung forums you will see everyone who owns one is happy with theirs.
Ive already spent £???'s on mine and havent had a problem yet.
p.s there not chinese either lol

Try Startrights They list a good few end cans for the bike, and might have/know of a down pipe for same bike.

if it aint broke don't fix it.

Plenty of bikes get on OK without stainless pipes. Just make sure you keep on top of the cleaning and maintenance. WD40 is your friend.

Scorpion did have a research & Development system in stainless. My mate is trying to get hold of it at the moment for me, but apparently that one, the only one in existence was put on a GT250R which got chucked down the road at some point and is now no more.

Scorpion will make a full system when Barrus the importers pay scorpion a small amount to develop the system further and pay for tooling and jigs to produce more.

Apparently Barrus sent out a notice to all "Hyo" dealers about the exhaust but had very little response so they never bothered to proceed any further. (my mate works in a big "hyo" dealer and had never even seen the notice. Rolling Eyes )

I`m currently composing an email to send Barrus to try and chivvy them up a bit.

Scorpion wont do a one-off as they are made under license for barrus the main hyosung importer.

So all in all Come on Ep Barrus Pull your Middle Finger out Mr. Green

Thanks for the replies guys.
I already have a custom stubby MTC pipe which is made specifically for my bike.
Its an amazing pipe but the rust on the link pipes (common problem) and the amount of restriction within these pipes is the reason for changing them.
Tbh ill probably just keep the standard ones and clean them up and coat it in high temp paint (again)
Ad.
