Hi

Have you got a Haynes? Often there is a chart in there to decode the chassis number to tell you what model it is.

All the best

Keith

Jamie...
I note from your sig that you have a 1949 tyre on your Ariel. Do yourself a favour and dump it. Old tyres kill, the rubber perishes as does the rim wire and canvas ply.
Tyres are like rubber johnies, just cus you had a good time with one in the past it is best to start out with a fresh one the next time opportunity arises rather than use worn old rubber.

He's not old enough to know about that yet... Plus he's not really old enough to ride the Ariel, so I don't think it really matters that he has an old tyre on it!! Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Bought them from dave silvers in the end as they were able to work out the model of the bike from the frame number.

It was a 1982 Cb750 FB

Also When I put the Ariel on the road when I'm 17 , just over 2 years away ,I will be buying a new set of branded tyres.
