After making numerous inquiries online I am the only NSR125 owner on the entire West-coast of North America. California chat forums don't know or care about NSR's. And my green, red and white Adricatico 2 (being 901 0f 1,000) is truly one of a kind. Why no one desires this wild cult bike is beyond me. My boss called it a chainsaw... a 100mph Chainsaw!

I own one, it's currently out of action though.

Stuff 'em! Show them up on your 100mph 125! I had 87mph out of mine 2 weeks ago in 5th gear, not bad for a bike which is older then me eh?

Thumbs Up

Transport Canada allows the importation of foreign 15+ year old cars and bikes ( and their parts as well) without hefty duties. The registration and licencing of bike then falls to the province the bike is being imported to; so as long as it meets current requirements for lighting, reflectors, and a metric speedo, it's in.
While we in N. America have some tough enviro-laws, you all in the UK and Europe have always had tougher emissions requirements since the late 70's.
The NSR's weren't sold in N. America (except the NSR100-Racer) because buyers here reject single cylinder machines outright. Why thumpers are so unpopular here is something I can't understand. Honda just started selling the CBR125 this spring after a 18 year absence of a 125cc streeter in their lineup.
Furthermore, 2-strokes carry a stigma of being suitable for chainsaws and yard trimmers only. With the exception of the Yamaha RD-RZ 350-400 series of bikes, no 2-stroke motorcycle has ever won N. America's favour.

I have applied for Collector Plates for my NSR so I must keep it bone-stock to qualify. Collector plate status means very cheap insurance with a ban on using the bike for work/school commuting.
