Never saw the first one and just turned this one off.
Quarter of an hour in and it just seems very over-sensational about Africa ( a continent I rode in for two years) and just rather gay.

Easily the best program on TV at the moment.

Really makes me want to go off road touring... maybe not on such a big scale, but definetly going for some europe off-road touring before I die!

that was great Smile
the same as the last one, has made me really want to do a few tours.
i'm planning a tour of wales next summer, will be my first tour and longest ride dont know who is going yet, only me for deffinate! - possibly a charity tour - may aswell, if im doing it may aswell help others - just like the long way down is for unicef.
but eventually im going to do england, scotland, ireland, france, germany, and so on...i know i wont be able to do the whole world (couldnt afford it) but i'd like to cover most of it, on and off road.

Custom made italian biking gear and unique helmet designs? Long way down branded balaclavas? It's a bit garish, but there's still the same atmosphere behind it that just makes me want to pack up some gear and fuck off to wherever.

Hehe yeah he does, especially two days before you set off on a trip to Africa, he'd be gutted if he managed to fall and break something. Still it looked good.

I loved watching it after top gear. Sunday nights are sorted!

the doctor is because they want to be on the safe side. nothing wrong with that.
they have familys that are worried about them, and that they worry about.
nothing wrong with that. Rolling Eyes

why is charlie a tosser? do you know him? you met him?

he seemed ok to me on the tv.

Being on the safe side has bugger all to do with adventure, neither does designer clothing. What is the hype about, the program took an hour and they had managed to get from London to France, big deal.
As for Charlie B being a tosser, telling aircrew you have a bomb justifies my judgement on him. I would hate to be stuck in a real situation with a prat like that.

Well if Ewan had taken Nick Sanders instead then they would of been there and back within the hour. Two R1's and a couple of power naps FTW.

As far as I could see, it was the hostess in the lounge that he said the "B" word to and not the aircrew. But anyway, I thought you turned it off? That was near the end... It was a pretty stupid thing to do though.

Either way, if you want to make a TV programme you need a certain amount of kit with you. If you're going to dangerous area then, if you can afford it, it makes sense to take people who could help you out of a nasty situation.

There's a big difference between LWD / LWR and the average tour organised by a couple of mates so you can't really compare them fairly.

It did seem very similar to the start of LWR, but less organised - although this is a much shorter trip and they've done it before.

As for the branding - well, I don't think it's something to get all that worked up about.

I think next week's programme will be better than this week's as they'll actually be out on the road.

does anyone know if the DVD contains more detail (when it is released obviously) just for some reason i enjoyed watching all the planning and stuff of LWR and on TV now they didnt show much ..like..6 months, 4 months, 2 months, 2 weeks, 4 days ... and it seemed to skip large sections. so would the DVD contain a lot more of that?
