so, anyone know of any genuinely "scary" games? bioshock made a fair crack at it along the way (like that guy standing behind you when you looked round in the dentist bit) but wasnt really very scary anything better out there? i.e. resident evil ect? ____________________ killa wrote: Im an ass man myself |

System shock 2 was ok,
Silent hill (the first one) though this was more irritating than scary
Res Evil 3 , but only when you are attacked by the mutant thingie which comes back harder each time you kill it.

I know its not like a zombie horror or anything but bioshock has startled me a fair few times while playing, I've actually jumped out of my seat and promptly been killed
edit: heh erm I just read your post properly, sounds like you've already played it. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

Condemned, this game actually did scare me, it wasn't so much scary images or gore, just the fact that you're in a pitch black room whilst you hear people running behind you, knocking things over & then jumping out infront of you.
I actually avoided going into some rooms as i knew someone would jump out on me, i was always watching my back like you would do in real life.
And that was the demo!

Manhunt on PS2 is eerie and the chainsaw whielding pig at the end was pretty terrifying when I first played it.
Parasite Eve 2 on PS has an awesome atmosphere to it, quite scary! A bit dated now but I regard it as one of the best Adventure / Horror games made
Apart from that you just can't go wrong with the Resident Evil games, just buy a gamecube and RE Zero, REMake, RE2, RE3, Code Veronica and you're sorted! I remember having so many nightmares from RE2 as a kid. ____________________ 2012 KTM EXC 250

I found alien vs predator damn scary if you turned off the lights and turned the speakers up. You'd hear the little blips on the radar but no idea where the alien was until a light momentarily flashed and it was infront of you.
I think I played it back when I was about 12-13. I turned it off after playing it for 5 minutes. |

First Trigen in Far Cry shit me right up
But yes as above FEAR , Silent Hill ( the first one ) , Condemned etc...
But i think the one that REALLY got me has to be Clive Barker's UNDYING - when that first came out it was seriously good
He has a second ( produdced ) game coming out called Jericho , hopefully it will be as good ____________________ Bike History:- Vision / Phantom 100 / Aerox 100 / Runner VX125 / Honda VFR400 NC24 / Kwak ZX9R B3 / Honda CBR600 F / ZZR400 & K2 GSXR 750 / Suzuki VZ800 |

Props to everybody that recommended Condemned Criminal!
I found it in PC World today for a tenner and have been playing it since I got home!
Is it just me, or does everybody else kick the enemies when they are dead?
By the way, I bought Jericho today as well, it feels very much like Gears of War, but looks excellent and as soon as I get a handle on who does what, I'll be kicking spectral ass ____________________ You will become my force of retribution.
