hello fellow geeks

I want to run dual monitors from my HP dc7700usdt.

but it needs to be a low profile one because it is one of those stupid ultra slim cases.

so.

decent card capable of directx 10 for vista aero bollocks.
and films etc etc.

and of course dual output but from one connection as it has to be low profile.

preferably sub £100 but don't mind going a bit over.

any suggestions?
any personal experience with any particular card would be usefull.

cheers guys.

Hello; I Run:

Primary: 17 “TFT 128 ATI RADEON [AGP Connection]
Secondary: 15” TFT 64 MB ATI RADEON [AGP Connection]

I use the primary for Gaming, Films, Streaming and the secondary monitor is used for browsing, documents etc. It all depends on what you want to do, use both of gaming or streaming etc, you will probably have a spare PCI Slot and you could purchase an ok PCI graphics card, https://www.ebuyer.com/product/129804/show_product_reviews and it would do the job more then enough. Also remember there’s no point in spending too much if your core system i.e. Ram/CPU is below par.

Check to see what slots you have available.

XFX have a range of good low profile capable cards.
They're full height from the box but you can buy a low profile bracket kit seperately to make it low profile, dual slot low profile, etc.

squishio, we use Ati FireMV 2200 half height/low profiles pci express dual head cards at work - they were a pain in the arse to source, but eventually one supplier got us some for about £60-£70 a piece

We tried the Matrox Dualhead2Go which is external, but it didn't allow the taskbar to be only on one screen, and all error msgs were fixed in the centre of the desktop, which meant it was split over two screens
