EDZ are the best IMHO,

Brought a pair of leggings a couple of years ago, after courering/touring and just sitting around in them for a few years they are still going strong...

I would say look for the ones that feel like they have a fleece like quality... Some of the more modern fabrics can irritate the hairs on my legs Razz

Microfleece roll neck top to go under your bike jacket with a long sleeve T shirt underneath, and some of those edz tights like the don recommended.

Hi

I use a Thermal waistcoat with heat pax in it
They work really well.
The heat pax themselves work out ok price wise as they last up to 16 hours. In between they need storing in a airtight bag (frezzer ziplock bags work for me)
Nice and toastie

Regards
C

Lady's tights work, but the wearing of them guarantee a trip to hospital.

I get mine from ski shops. Some thin polyester type stuff with high-tech coatings. makes a very good base-layer. I put a long sleeve t-shirt, a short sleeve t-shirt then a fleece waistcoat over the top and I'm ready to rock.

They also sell them in M&S.

Alternatively, a good old fashioned string vest with a tight fitting t-shirt over the top is really warm.

I found the Craft underwear much better than the EDZ stuff which doesn't seem to stretch as well.

If your wearing leathers the EDZ micro shell thing makes a massive difference to wind proofing summer type leathers. It's fag paper thin so takes up no room and seems to insulate nicely.

My cold weather sporty leather kit is-

M&S Vest or T-shirt
Craft 1 piece undersuit
MOD gortex overtrousers (about £15- waterproof and windproof)
Super light Sprayway goretex running jacket
1 Piece leathers.

The key is to not to get too bulky, but build up in thin layers. The waterproof kit helps and it stops cold air blowing through and helps to trap warmer air in, it also slides nicely into tight leathers. Plus if the heavens open your sorted.

I love cold but sunny winter riding.

Zip out to Aldi or Lidl (Can't remember which) and you might just catch the last of the thermals they were selling last week. I just got some and did a 200 mile round trip, warm as toast!
Thumbs Up
