I cannot believe this.

The Wii has been out a year and now every fricking shop in the UK is out of stock of the things! Is the Manufacturing process so crap that they can't get enough out to meet demand, or is there just a huge demand still? I know it's coming up to Christmas, but come-on, Nintendo won't want the backlog to be the legacy of the Wii.

Someone must be buying them, apparently there's 2751 of them on eBay.

Yeah, at a premium price.

I'm talking about brand new, Wii's in normal retail outlets.

traders buy them in bulk to chip and sell with pirate games at a massive profit. thats why there are none in stock.

Nintendo have got it spot on! Its called supply and demand, there is no supply so the demand it high. As it's Christmas soon everyone is panicking trying to get one.

Nintendo will only be letting limited amounts onto the market to keep the demand high. Maximum respect! Thumbs Up

I don't think dodgy traders are single handedly responsible for the global Wii shortage are they?

As a company we've tried to get Wii's in stock ourselves but Nintendo just can't meed the current demand nor will guarantee delivery dates despite them insisting they're making regular shipments. So because of the uncertainty we've decided not to bother at all.

Comingup to 12million sales worldwide, demand is still huge.

its not the sole reason but it is a major one.
then you have your ebay dealers who buy bulk purely to sell at inflated prices due to the lack of stock which they contribute to.

We bought one recently from tescos, we went in virtually every day for a week to get one. In the end one nice lady put one aside for us, they'd get like 15 in at a time and they would just go in a few hours. Shocked

Shocked got mine on release day last year. Prices weren't so bad over the majority of the year on ebay, but with Christmas coming up it appears people are panic buying. Just saw them start going at =>£240. That's bloody insane.
Not really used it that much tbh. Recently bought some gamecube games for it. They gave some fun. Got Smash Bros Melee to tide me over until Brawl comes out Twisted Evil

(realtime updates every 60 seconds)

Live stock reports from across the UK bought mine from comet via this site, they had 20 units sold out in under 4 minutes at the time
