Think about it...If they know that so many of us are on this forum maybe they browse it to find out what we're doing etc!
Like the R1 that was stolen the other day from NC30.
If they were browsing they'd now know what not to do, where not to go and what specials the bike has to cover up aka the scratches mentioned.
I've posted this in a new thread to emphasize the point. Maybe some sort of security should be made so you HAVE to be a member and prove who you are and give details.

The amount of info thats posted on the net will always give the game away to who, what, where and when.

Thats what he's trying to say, only members can view the forums. Personally I don't see what difference it would make. People would give false details.

What were you thinking? Sending in a utility bill? Laughing

At the end of the day, it's all good showing off your ride etc but the more you show/tell, the more they know what to expect like has been said elsewhere. It's one of those things.

I'm not sure what could be done...not like it would matter anyway. I can tell you all where I live and steal 20 bikes you still wouldn't know it's me.
Any geniuses around?

TBH the thieves would know who had what bikes, but not exactly where they were......unless stalked our areas in the hope of bumping into us.

Most of these gangs have spotters I expect.

I don't think anyone is daft enough to post there personal details on a forum, people just have to be extra vigilant especially if they own a fancy bike, it only takes a criminal to spot you ridin it, follow you home and nick it. It's all about security.

Easier said than down.

Easier if you live on a quiet road/cul de sac where it's obvious who's coming and going.

No but they have a good idea of the bikes in a given area thanks to the location maps in profiles and Pics like yours Colin...

Its surprisng what info can the nbe gleaned via the net on people. But i would agree most wil lbe by groups targeting areas.
Lets face it this last week has been prime ncking time... Dark nights and fireworks going off, so most folks won't think twice about a noise outside.....
