A short while ago someone on here mentioned wouldnt it be nice if speed signs say something nice as you passed them.
On Berry Brow heading towards Clayton Bridge from Clayton (just outside Manchester) there is a speed sign that shows your speed and at the bottom says thank you if you are below 30. I've only gone passed it on my way to work stuck behind cars (double white lines here) so have only seen it being happy. Anyone else seen this type of sign ?

Theres been one, on and off, between Congleton and Sandbach for over a year. On a NSL it flashes a smiley if your under 55 and a frowney if your over.

this one just says thank you at the bottom, no smileys. I'll go past it in the morning and hang back, then gunn it to see what it does. I'd best check for scameras first though Smile

The problem is although many people during the day stick to the limit when night falls you get folks seeing just how high they can get them,

To be honest thats probably why its there Itchy, at night theres more than likely a couple of traffic coppers hanging about to catch said speeding miscreants, shame really its a nice bit of twisty but inbetween two not so nice areas (apologies to anyone that lives in Clayton or Newton Heath). So i'll hold off on the testing untill 3 of my 9 are gone Smile

Once had one ages ago on my way to work, however it was temporary.

Coming from a 50mph dual carriageway to a 30mph single carriageway (from J25 m62 into brighouse if anyone knows it). Thought it was a copper at first so jumped on the anchors but was still doing about 40/42 and got a big frowning face (bit like the look on the guys face in the car) Laughing

On my old route to work (passed Salcey Forest on the backroads) there's a nice twisty section of NSL and as you come over a hill there's an electronic sign warning you about the bend/junction combination ahead. However, the sign is set to about 45mph and the bend can be done at 55+, plus there is plenty of braking distance following the sign in case of trouble. If I don't set the sign off then I know I'm "riding like a pedboi" Wink

Im not going to tell you how i know this I just do. In eastwood near me there is an electronic speed sign in a 30 zone, It displays your speed and says thank you if you are below 30, slow down if you are above 30.

If you head towards it at over 100mph, it spazz's out and flashes up 99mph thank you!

I know of one that has a smiley face if you're under the limit, and a big red flashing camera logo if you're over.
