Hi, Just wondering if anyone could help me basically my vivacity 50cc will bog when I am setting off the line say at traffic lights, and it will do this until about 5/6 mph after which it seems to free up and it will start to accelerate really quickly. Now I am thinking that the low end is really rich so when it starts there is too much fuel going into the mixture which causes it to go slow. Now there are several screws on the card and I was wondering if anyone knew if these can be altered which will change the mixture setting ??

Thanks Jamie

The last one i worked on that had these symptoms, it turned out that the rollers/belts needed replacing.

Have you checked the rollers recently?

As worn rollers (flat spots on them) will effectivly cause you to pull off at a higher gear ratio because they do not return to there rest position fully as the revs drop.

Another problem caused by worn rollers is just the opposite where you can be reving away merrily and not get the full ratio range (like runing around in a low gear)

Ha ha, i started writing that post and got called away to take some pics for my dad,

So theres your second opinion, belts are recommended to be changed at about 6000 miles, but will wear out quicker if you sit revving your scoot with the brakes on.

well the bike has 16,000 kilometers on the clock and i have done 2000 + of them, so maybe new rollers and belt would be a good option. I haven't checked them either since i got the bike, another problem is that i can be going at say 20mph try to accelerate and there is just no power there which sort of suits your description of worn rollers.

I'll have a look at the rollers and see if they have flat, worn patches on them, just need some time and its a bit hard to find time as the scooter is used everyday !

Anyone know a good place to buy scooter parts ?

if your rollers are flat, then you can get standard ones for around £10 and standard weight mallossi rollers for around £13,

The mallossi ones are a little harder wearing and worth the extra couple of quid.

you will need to pull the side case off and undo the pulley nut, slide the front variator off the crank and undo the three cross head screws on the back to reveal the rollers,

Clean the old grease off and very lightly regrease the new rollers, bolt them back inand slide the variator back on the crank, If you don't have air tools then make sure you can REALY tighten the pulley nut to prevent it from spinning loose.

thanks for the advice, i will get them checked out. My mate has got some air tools so i will just take my scooter down to his.

I have found a site selling mallossi rollers but they are all in different weights, so how will i know which ones are the same weight as my original ones ??
