What's your opinion if so?

I'm fitting one to a Deauville tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think.

By the way, have you checked the price of them from the importers as they are relativley cheap - about 85 quid if I remember right.

One went on ebay - second hand - for more than a brand new one cost me to get

I was just browsing ebay for ST1100 stuff and saw it at £20 so put a bid on. Still 2 days left yet so I'll see how it goes.

Well, it's a nice bit of kit Mark. Well made etc.

I took it up the road when I had finished fitting it and it was a great improvement on the standard Deauvalle screen, however i'm not sure it would be much of an imrovement on the flip up screen you have fitted (if that's your present one in your avatar).

The adjustment system seems reasonably robust enough and it does have some effect in the different positions at higher speeds.
I would say if you can get one cheap, fine, buy it on the off chance you'll like it but at full price, not sure.

The one in my avatar is the orignal Honda screen. I used that in summer and in winter (ie wetter weather) I use a taller non-Honda one.

Unfortunately my cats found the Honda screen in my garage and decided to have a chew/scratch at the foam where the screen mounts to the bike and wrecked it.

The current screen is just the wrong height and the airflow catches my helmet hence looking for a variable one.

I'm still the high bidder to fingers crossed

Got one on my 1150GS as the standard screen suffers from buffeting at high speeds. It transformed the bike, I can have the visor up at motorway speeds with no problem now.

A plus point when its hot is the top section can be removed to let the cool air through.

I missed getting it!

I went to my sister-in-law's to de-louse their PC so was watching the auction from there.

45 secs to go I decided to put in my bid. Clicked the button and ebay logged me out and asked for my username/.password again - arrgh!!

I was going to bid £65 and it went for £59 so I'd have got it. Also it was only 15 miles down the road so no p&p either.

Ah well c'est la vie.

Fabbri are just the run of the mill double bubble and standard screens, nothing special.

More of a fashion statement as some GP bikes use them.

Decided to go the other route for now - quieter helmet.

So just ordered a Schuberth C2

I heard that X-Lite are the quietest helmets.

And from a reliable source: my friend did some in-depth research as he has serious problems with his ears.

I’ve an MRA vario touring onmy VFR and it’s fantastic. As it’s adjustable you can tailor it to fit your height & stance so much better, meaning 120mph+ is possible buffeting free (on closed roads, obviously.) Had a fabbri DB before and didn’t work for me, getting head bobbing above 90mph (on said roads…)
Got it from a German importer on ebay – not cheap if I recall, but the best after market I’ve come across, and better than the flip-up I had on my old fazer.
