Still shaking with the old adrenaline as I type...

Just had to pop into town to pay a bill at lunch, whilst I was in the bank there had been a small shower, you know enough to just wet the roads, and it hasn't rained here for several days.

I was VERY concious of the slippery surface, and the fact I was just wearing my thin work trousers, slip ons and leather jacket. Until I got to one junction, when pulling out, I thought I'd try and get the back spinning and sliding a little - so gave it reasonable throttle in first as I started to straigten up after making the turn.

BIG mistake, it just snapped round loads, I ended up with the left leg out trying to stabilse the bike (prob the wrong thing to do), but thankfully I just throttled back a little rather than shutting off. When it came back in I thought it was going to be a proper slapper, but I had enough throttle on (gave it a bit more as it straigtened) to stop it.

Fully shat myself, images of destroyed bike, lost skin and broken limbs abound. Thank fuck it didn't go down. Gave the peeps at teh bus-stop something to look at tho!

Just thought I'd share...

I've put myself into a few close shaves recently, things like pushing to the front of the queue at roundabouts - not too bad you may think...
Well it is when there's an HGV on the left who then decides he's going to turn right, and a Mondeo on your right who thinks they can beat you off the line and then go straight on! Sick

I don't know wether I've got too used to the XR125 or too fed up of the traffic being in my way now it's dark and decided to just push to my limits... not good for my health though!! Confused

Wait until you're a little bit straighter before banging the throttle on next time? Very Happy

Do a wheelie next time instead, it's safer. Laughing
