I personally would feel like a tit on a 125- getting lapped by people on R1's etc.

Plus don't you need race standard helmet and leathers to be allowed on the track?

It's gonna be a lot more embarrasing to get passed by a 125 on a R1 than the other way round... it's not like the R1 rider's gonna look at you and thnik 'they're crap they can't keep up', while if you go past them all there mates will have noticed them getting overtaken by a 125 (even if it is on a corner).

I am looking at doing some track days some time soon... and yes you do need Leathers (which I haven't got at the mo) but AFAIK an 'A' grade helmet will be fine. One of my mates is going to a (two day) track day in JUly at Cadwell, there arne't any spaces left but I may well go if anyone drops out (depending on my finacial situation at t he time).

each to his own Smile

I'd definatley do track days if I had a 400- perfect track day bike. But they're expensive aren't they (track days not 400s:))- about 100 quid a time?

Yea... from about £65 to £200 depending on the track, time on track, time of year number of riders etc.

Someone I know who has a souped up TRX850 still does track days on his MZ250 (top speed about 100, though it is a bit modified). You don't go to a track day to be faster than every one else... that'll lead straight to the hospital, but rather to extend you and your bikes limits.
My mate with the MZ has even gone past an R1 on the outside round a corner... as far as looking cool goes IMO going around the outside of an R1 on a 20 year old £500 scarp yard reject looks a load better than the R1 passing the bike on the straight.

If I could properly derestrict my NSR125F I'd take it to a track day... especially for a first track day I'd prefer to be on a bike thats limits are fairly near mine rather than having 100hp to kick me up the arse cominbg out of every corner... and one that I'm not going to risk £1k+ worth of fairing if I stack it as well.

Very Happy I'd love to do some trackdays on my NSR!

Think about it, a small capacity machine, light as fuck around the bends with enough power to accelerate out of bends hard, but not enough to see you on your arse......it would be heaven. Very Happy

I would seriously love a trackday this summer........
.............but we'd need some pit girls! Annabella, Viper any ideas?
<looks innocent> Laughing hehehe only an idea...
