I've just opened a bottle of wolf blass red label sparkling chardonnay pinot noir that came with last nights shopping and its lost its fizz. Theres not a bubble to be seen anywhere. Really pissed off as its an £8 bottle of wine and it just tastes like 3 quid plonk. I'm a bit confused as to what to do now. I've got no more alcohol in the house so do I drink it anyway or leave it and take it back to complain? Rolling Eyes

Wolf Blass does red fizz?

Shocked

I'm disappointed in them.

You bought an £8 bottle of sparkling chardonnay?

Just drink it... what do you expect for £8?

Its red label not red wine. And its far from fizzy. The only way you could put bubble in it is if you dropped an aero in. Sad

Well I paid £5.69 actually as it was reduced from £7.99, but I expected to receive the full product, not just the wine minus the bubbles. I'm certainly no Oz Clark, but I expect an 8 quid bottle of wine to be decent, normally a fivers my limit. I dont earn enough to pay much more.

Just to add insult to injury the bottle says its 10.5%abv and sainsburys are advertising it as 11%. Twisted Evil

Hmmm... if it was discounted I doubt they will refund it... you could try tho...

I guess I'm not really one to talk... I've been known to reach for the 2ltr plastic bottles of Blackthorn Dry Cider in Tesco (Only £2!!!)...

But I never expect much out of cheap booze... other than it getting me slowly drunk of course...

Well if you are going to drink (relatively expensive) wine and you are wanting to drink Wolf Blass (which is normally very good) ... then I would stick to avoiding anything that supposedly has bubbles in it.
Sick

See, it was the words "pinot noir" that threw me.
That's usually red.
Although chardonnay usually isn't.

Still ... *bleagh* !!

Its not the individual bottle that was discounted. Its the product. Just because they have reduced the price doesn't entitle them to discount the quality. I've had a few bottles over the last few weeks and normally its very nice.
I've just had to go out in the cold to walk to the local off license to get something drinkable as the wolfblass wasn't anything other than drinking for the sake of it. Not a great choice in the offie, not to mention a minimum spend limit of a tenner with my switch card. (got no cash in my wallet). I had to buy 2 bottles of wine and a bar of chocolate as all they have is £4.99 wines. I ended up with a bottle of beaujolais and a south african chenin blanc. Sick

Do you want the wine to excite your palate and compliment a cheeky little cheese of do you just want to slur your speech with friends?
